Congratulations to Coach Sloan for passing Pat Riley for 3rd all time in wins with 1,211.
and doing it with 1 team is so impressive.
in a day and age where head coaches in pro sports are fired at any time for any reason, its amazing how great of a coach hes been so consistently for this long.
longest tenured coach in the 4 major pro sports. i hope he continues to coach the Jazz until hes too old to do it anymore. the fact that hes never won coach of the year is an outrage.
He coached the Bulls from 79-82 and won 94 games with them but still he's done an incredible coach. I just hope Corbin stays around long enough to take over once he's done but I doubt that happens. He seems to be one of the hottest coaching prospects in the league.
im assuming if Sloan ever decides to leave, Phil Johnson would get the first offer. hes been our assistant coach for 18 years now. Hes been named top assistant coach in the NBA by the GM's 4 different times.
I remember when Tyrone Corbin was playing for the Jazz. he was one of the main guys on the team when i moved to SLC when i was 7.
when i first became a Jazz fan, the starters were John Stockton, Jeff Malone, Bryon Russell, Karl Malone, and Felton Spencer, with Jeff Hornacek, Tyrone Corbin, John Crotty, Jay Humphries, David Benoit, Tom Chambers, Luther Wright, etc on the bench. lol good times. one of my friends at school was David Benoit's financial advisor, or agent or something.
