We all are this is just horses**t and it just shows the lack of leadership we have on this team. I hate to say it but I think losing Boozer has been the main reason for this b/c D-Will just isn't the type of guy to lead the team and no one else can get teh same reaction like Booze did. I'm starting to see why Sloan wanted to keep him now. Also its nice to see The Mailman have Sloan's back as well.

SALT LAKE CITY -- An agitated Karl Malone says the Jerry Sloan he knows would never quit anything and suggested the only thing his longtime Utah Jazz coach tired of was the garbage that came with the job.

Malone, a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player and one of greatest power forwards in league history, also vowed to honor Sloan's legacy by becoming a coach himself someday.

In a coincidence, Malone had made plans to attend Friday night's game against the Phoenix Suns, which will be Ty Corbin's debut as the Jazz's new coach. Malone says he arranged for the pregame press conference to speak his mind because Thursday was not a good day for him to react.

somehow Malone talking all high and mighty about the franchise/Sloans legacy loses some luster after he bolted for one of the lamest career ending stints in sports history with the Lakers.

If you look at how close he came to passing Kareem for 1st place in all time scoring, and factored in that he wouldve been the main scorer for the Jazz that final year instead of a supporting cast member on the Lakers, he couldve had that record had he stayed. he also wouldve looked great sticking with the franchise the entire way.

sigh.....freakin Karl Malone. my fav player of all time, but hes such a bonehead...

Yes. He had 2 chances, and it didn't work out. Jumping ship on the team that drafted him and place he spent his whole career is disgraceful. Running to play your last season with the best team to get a ring just for being along for the ride is lame.

He should have stayed with Utah, ended his career as our start to finish franchise guy, and had a shot at passing Kareem. Hundreds of players have rings, only 1 can say they're the all time leading scorer.

I agree I wish he woulda stayed but to be honest thats the only time Ive ever rooted for the Lakers. Sad to say it but I think karma for leaving caught up to him and thats why he had such a injury plagued season that year. I think he only played like half the season and then of course he wasnt healthy during the finals. With Malone that year the Jazz coulda easily got into the playoffs especailly since the media labeled "worst team thats ever been put together" won 42 games that year and almost slipped in anyways despite not having a star on the team. Arroyo, Harp, Ak and Malone woulda got us in for sure especailly since Karl had averaged 20 ppg in his final year with Utah.

you rooted for the Lakers??

when Karl left for LA it made me hate them more, not want to pull for them. it was a dirty, selfish move on his part. both him and Gary Payton embarrassed themselves by trying to piggyback a great team for a cheap, last minute ring before they retired.

I rooted for Karl I wanted to see one of my favorite players of all time get a ring even if it wasn't coming in a Utah uniform. Yes it was selfish on his part but with Larry Miller being so cheap back then and not pushing to make the team better after Stockton's retirement I think that pushed Karl to the Lakers more then anything.
Is it too late to ask for Jerry to come back?
Saddest season I've ever experienced as a Jazz fan. Makes me wonder if all this woulda happened if we had decided to resign Wesley and maybe Korver this offseason to keep the SG position stabilized and not have to suffer through the inconsistencies of Bell and CJ.

Yep. 1 minute into the 4th and I turn the game off... Pretty darn sad it has come to this. Just can't do it anymore. Boring, slow, no defense, can't hit shots, no SG, no passion, no character, no leader, no go to guy. This is as bad as it gets. This team is the 49ers of basketball.

Definitely a bad year for the jazz, but they are in no way the 49ers of bball.
Gosh we need a shooter. Why the hell didnt we resign Korver?

I would take OJ Mayo or Lee. The Jazz are officially rebuilding, so we should bring in as many young guys as we can.

I agree. Mayo would be great. I wouldn't even mind Hamilton. It just worries me getting a veteran like him or Redd because of what we've seen out of Bell. What a complete waste he's been all season. If he could just hit some of his shots he'd be alright, but unfortunatley that's not the case. Only shots he can hit are the ones with his toe on the line for some reason.
