You mean the kind of difference between one having chemistry and resiliency, and the other being a bunch of overpaid, hired guns with poor attitudes?

Better put the nail in the coffin today and avoid facing Kershaw in game 6.
looks like we may be out of the running

Hard to get mad a being out of the running for 70 million. Lot of money for a guy with some holes in his swing and a defensive liability.

that's a huge deal, i agree. but the potential to be a 30+ homerun guy is definitely there.

I would still like to have him. Too bad they overpaid Pence and wont have the money to sign Abreu.

They had to expect it could run this high when initial reports were 50-60. They always get bid over that amount. It all depends on what their mindset is on these Cuban phenoms. They decided Chapman wasnt worth it, they decided Cespedes wasnt worth it, and they decided Yasiel Puig wasnt worth it. Do they want to make it 0 for 4 and watch Abreu become and impact player for someone else? Or do they want to roll the dice and possibly get a player worth more than 70 mil.

I say roll the dice. Were going to have to make up some ground to compete with LA. The Giants are one of the most profitable teams in baseball, so we should be able to raise our payroll a bit. Our rotation probably needs more help than the offense right now, but there isnt exactly going to be any studs available via free agency.
i lol'd when i saw the Astros being a frontrunner. Olney probably just mispelled GIANTS with ASTROS.
We paid Aaron rowand 60 million. We can do this.

I never wanted to see Belt move to LF anyway. Hopefully we look for a LF upgrade instead now.
