2013 San Francisco Giants Thread

Abreu to the White Sox: 6/68. We'll see how that pans out.
This team only signs older ass free agents to huge money, nothing new. Lets just sit back and watch the dodgers buy every one

And it's worked.

There's that which is sexy, splashy and exciting...and there's that which just works. IMO, winning 2 out of the last 3 titles proves their approach (which many people mock) as merit.

I think the Giants may take a shot at Michael Morse on a 1-2 year deal. Just a hunch. He started off really hot last year and then injuries just derailed him. I doubt any team will give him a long term deal because of that so it may be a way to get him fairly cheap. Choo and Ellsbury are not going to happen, Beltran wont come back to the Giants, and I think Nelson Cruz will resign with Texas.

Abreu would have been nice but its seems pretty clear that only AL teams really valued him for a DH role.

I can see that, so long as there's a rotation in LF with Blanco, Perez or someone else who can play a little defense in the later innings. I'm a bigger fan of trading for Josh Willingham who also had a down year due to injuries, but other than age there probably isn't a huge difference between the two right now.

I think Blanco and Perez will likely be on the team as the 4th and 5th OFs and would be defensive replacements.
I wouldn't mind morse. Didn't he have a monster 2012 season? How about Corey Hart?

Morse on a 2 year deal could be just enough until Mac Williamson takes over in LF (ready or not) for the 2016 season.
So I assume the Gary Brown experiment has failed right?
is there something we don't know about or is Baggs just joking...
