2012 Oregon Ducks Football Thread (GO DUCKS!!!)

Yeah I think this is the best Ducks team I've seen. Your D plays so much better, and as I said if a D plays disciplined our offense gets shut down. Our offense relies on the D screwing up their reads, but the Ducks stayed disciplined.

On offense, game was over when Sutton was out. Our entire D relies on DT Sutton. I could not believe it when he got injured on the first Oregon drive.

If Oregon stays healthy they should finish the year out undefeated and shot at the title.

That's what Chip Kelly's teams are known for, staying disciplined. And this is the best defense we've had in years, even with our best player, safety John Boyett, being out for the year after the first game. Lots of depth and a very, very young and talented secondary. Our No. 1 corner, Terrence Mitchell, is going to be a star.

I think we will go undefeated if we beat USC. And before the season started, I said we didn't stand much of a chance against them. But I swear, they get less and less intimidating every week. They very well could have a few losses this year. One thing that I find very encouraging is their lack of depth. I don't know the exact number, but I know they aren't allowed to have the maximum amount of players on their roster, which will be devastating in an uptempo game against us, especially in the second half. If it's close in the beginning, it'll be a classic Oregon game when we let the flood gates open after the team is gassed.

I will say, though. D.J. Foster looks legit. I remember really wanting him to commit to Oregon (I think it was between ASU and Oregon) but he obviously chose you guys. He had a couple nice runs last night and I was impressed.

Good luck the rest of the way
Barner looked phenomenal so did Mariota

defense forced the timely INTs which is all you guys need to get the track meet started
It will be a crime if this team wins out and doesn't make the National Championship. We'll prob be 3 in the NCS after this week (Alabama, K State being the two teams ahead of us) but there is no way we aren't the second best team in the country.

Luckily, we have 3 more games against ranked opponents (Stanford, Oregon St and whoever we play in the Pac-12 Championship) so I think we control our own destiny.

I have to keep reminding myself that Mariota is a Freshman and only 19 years old... Dude is just playing SO damn well this year. He's got the poise of a 5th-year senior, the accuracy of a precision passer and the speed of a wide receiver. Nothing phases this guy. He comes into the biggest game of his career in the Coliseum against a good USC defense and throws for 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. I know it's easy to say he's able to stay so calm because he's from Hawaii, but it's true. Nothing phases this guy.

He's going to be very, very, very special one day.

Dixon's senior year with Jonathan Stewart was the best offensive team I've ever seen

That was before I went to Oregon and was still a Stanford fan, but wasn't that team supposed to go to the Natty if Dixion didn't get hurt? I also remember hearing that he was the front-runner for the Heisman that year.
Bridgeford will dominate
Alright beat the s**t out of CAL and move into the top 2.... Go Ducks!!!
