Lebron took less money to go to Miami...so I don't think couple million dollars a year make a real difference to him. He's 28...spends plenty of time back in Akron, Ohio. Doubt he cares about weather at this stage in his life. He cares about his legacy...these things are petty.
IMO, Lebron will go with the FO that is capable of puttin' championship worthy squad. This is why, I feel that he won't leave Pat Riley and join another team...for more money, weather, market, etc.

He took less NBA salary money. Which is a small part of his annual compensation when you include endorsements. And in his case he makes so much that low taxes matter a lot.

Sure...but it's not much of a difference. The difference in tax-burden between playing in NYC and Miami is 3.5% - and I'm quite positive he would have made more money in NYC or Chicaco from local sponsors than he did in Miami.
IMO, people make too much of an issue about taxes. Local government need money and they will get it one or the other. For people making millions of dollars playing basketball...a couple of %s isn't going to make a whole lot of difference.

Personally I don't think he leaves Miami after next season. I think they win it all again. So they all don't opt out and go for 4 in a row. Then with possibly 4 MVP/Championship/MVP Finals in a row he can worry less about his legacy in the game and more about his celebrity. But even then he is still in his prime. I think he waits until like 35 to make his journey to one of the "big" cities to make one final cash in on his talent and celebrity.

Your #'s are already wrong since it's 2010. During the financial hardship CA increased theirs to the highest in the nation. FL has 0% on income. Now they get you other ways. You got property tax, car registration, and other things. But zero in state on income is a pretty big deal.
