Not a big loss.

Uh what? He is the most irreplaceable player in baseball.

Thankfully he should be back by playoff time.

Cardinals up 6-0 now. Matt Carpenter with 26 HRs now.

Watch ANY reporter outside of the general SF Giant homer list you follow and you'll see.

Cards should be able to win without him, if they don't it's an epic fail.

I mean I hope so....but Yadi IS the Cardinals

You have to get over that, he's been a really good ballplayer but is on the downside for sure.

Alright. IF that is how you think, WHO is the key component to the Cardinals?

Any real baseball fan knows MOLINA is what drives this team.

There can't be just one. You are blinded by your homer Card perspective. If Molina (who is on the downside of his career and didn't produce much) drives this team, then it would have been driven into the ditch.

Cards are a good baseball team, so what happens when he's gone, they go to s**te? Come on, take the blinders off.

Right, a catcher hitting .270 with 4 HR is the most irreplaceable player in baseball.

Ask anybody that actually knows baseball and they'll tell you the same. I knew mentioning Molina's name would bring you out.

Saying ridiculous and untrue things will usually draw a comment from me.

Molina is the heart and soul of your team. I get it. But if you lost Molina for the year, you could still win the WS. Itd be less likely, but you could. There are teams who rely more heavily on players, who would be done without them.

Just because Fox Sports 'Midwest' suggests it doesn't make it true. Its a headline for their article, of course theyre going to say something bold.

I have to agree with 99. I can think of several players that are more valuable and irreplaceable than Molina. We aren't talking about the Yadi of a few years ago.

His defense and control of the pitching staff is still there. Ability to call a game. He is in there more innings than any catcher. Your casual fan or even someone who doesn't watch the Cardinals games won't see that. He is the only catcher in baseball with a catchers ERA below 3. (2.80). He has allowed the fewest stolen bases of any catcher. Just shuts down the running game. Its easy to sit there and say OH HE ONLY HAS 4 HOME RUNS! But there is so much more going on that he controls. Not gonna sit here and argue though because we already know Buster Posey is the greatest baseball player of all time. Right?

No one said that Posey is the greatest player of all time. But, he is a better player than Molina in 2015 and more valuable to the Giants success than Molina is to the Cards in my opinion. The Giants have fewer star players than the Cards yet with Posey have won 3 WS in 5 years. When he was out in 2011 they sucked big time. So you can go on and on about Molina and claim thats all we do about Posey. I think thats funny by the way. Kind of like you claim we are homers and that you arent.

Also, no one is saying that Molina isnt a big part of the Cardinals and not valuable. I just think to say that he is THE MOST iirreplaceable player in all of baseball is far fetched in 2015.

Think Maddon will win Manager Of The Year over Matheny?

I think it'll be close

I actually think Terry Collins will be in the race as well. All are deserving but Collins and Maddon will be taking teams to the playoffs that most did not think would get there.

1) Maddon
2) Collins
3) Matheny
