Actually you said that Arroyo can be a capable #2 or #3 starter. How quickly you forget your own words. As for Vogelsong, just because a guy starts game 2 of a season due to injuries from key starters it doesnt mean he is their #2 starter. And he wasnt. But if you want to compare Arroyo to a guy who the Giants will be not be resigning and could be out of baseball soon go right ahead.

Nope I said all are capable pitchers.
And on other rosters they can be #2 or 3

Thanks for playing thought

Anyone who even thinks that Arroyo can be a #2 in 2016 knows nothing and not worth my time. SO.... Im done with you.

This thread will die a slow death.. just like the Dodgers.

Every single SP on the Dodgers 40 man roster heading into next season is either mediocre, injury riddled, or Clayton Kershaw. That is a fact.

If Greinke leaves, you're down to Kershaw, Wood, Arroyo, McCarthy, Ryu, and Bolsinger as a fill in for whoever gets hurt first. Thats pretty terrible.

Even if the Giants sign no one (they will), Bumgarner, Peavy, Cain, Heston, Petit is still better than the Dodgers rotation I just posted.

You do realize there's some terrible rotation out there right? Or do you not realize that? Hell Aaron Harang at 37 was 3rd in Phill, probably 2nd after Hamels left.

Then the Rockies rotation... Just to name a few. But I guess that makes too much sense for you

Kershaw, Greinke, Ryu, Wood all have career ERAs mid 3s or lower, the 5th guy just needs to eat up innings in all reality.

You got Bum, Peavy is just taking advantage of the field. Cain looks done. Heston ok. Petit isn't a starter guy

At least you could get your facts right when you try to make an argument. But that doesnt surprise me that you are wrong given that you dont even know when your own players have been released.

Puig. BA .255
Pence BA .275

Puig OBP .322
Pence OBP ..327

Puig Slugging Avg .436
Pence Slugging Avg .478

Puig OPS .758
Pence OPS .806

Yes because I was talking about this I fury riddled season, and not his career averages

Come on solid, I know you are bitter and lashing out because of the latest letdown (meltdown). But to compare organizations based on recent history is just silly, don't you think? The proof is in the rings. Comparing Puig and Bonds ... LOL.

Cain is coming back from getting bone chips removed from his elbow. Its going to take time to find his new release point sans the bone chips.

Petit is the long man, who started his career as a SP. But like I said, the Giants are signing one of Greinke, Price, Zimmermann, or Leake, so he wont be in the rotation either way.

Why cant you just admit that after your big 2, your rotation is bad? Its a jumble of reclamation projects. The Giants rotation isnt much better, but we have proven, playoff tested veterans. The Dodgers basically said "we have nothing after Kershaw/Greinke, so lets just stock up on forner top prospects who have been injury riddled and hope they come back to life."

Gabe Kapler a serious frontrunner to be the Dodgers manager, as they begin the process.

Friedman going to bring in someone with Tampa Bay links. So pretty much Gabe or Dave, IMO I'm thinking Roenicke but we'll see.
If the Dodgers were smart, they would've fired Mattingly last year and hired Joe Maddon.

The Dodgers can say what they want about how much they loved Mattingly. He's a nice guy. Most people who meet him come away loving him.

He's a nice guy, but he was never their nice guy. Mattingly was hired by former general manager Ned Colletti, who always believed in him. Andrew Friedman and his numbers guys simply inherited him.

Truth be told, the parting of ways probably should have happened last winter, when Friedman could have pursued Joe Maddon, who worked so well with him with the Tampa Bay Rays. Instead, the Dodgers kept Mattingly, who was said to have had a close relationship with owner Mark Walter.

He was better than torre

No, Torre just managed the Dodgers in the McCourt era, when their finances were in a tailspin.

Mattingly got to hide behind the Guggenheim money.
