On the Rudy Gobert microphone incident: at the time, I actually took it as a measure of support for the media. We were being told to keep 6-8 feet away from them on the assumption that we might infect a player. I thought it was Rudy thumbing his nose at the separation between us.

Donovan still seems stupidly upset at Rudy in his GMA interview. Why be mad? I hate that all this assumption is on Rudy just because he was tested first. What would have happened if the roles were reversed?

I didn't get that sense. He seems annoyed about it because of the situation it's caused, but he didn't seem mad.

That was my thought too. They have no idea who brought it in. Gobert was also joking around about it before anyone in America was taking it seriously. Just horrible luck that he was one of the first to get it, and the timing made him look like a dick.

Although I've seen stuff online about Donovan not feeding him the ball when he should have this year as well so maybe it does run deeper. I was worried about this when I posted a couple weeks ago that Donovan seemed to be still pissed at him and it all turned out to be true. IMO the NBA needs some kind of franchise tag system. It has a huge issue with star players leaving for big markets to form super teams. Smaller market teams will never compete if they're forced to draft 2-3 superstars and then keep them all together with longterm deals. Its almost impossible.
