Meh.
Jazz got another benchwarmer who can apparently shoot.
Dwayne Wade has bought into the Jazz. Awesome little surprise that should help out a lot in free agency and in Utah in general I think.

I don't really see how that helps. The Bobcats / Hornets didn't suddenly get a wave of quality free agents just because Michael Jordan bought the team. The Kings didn't get a bunch of nice FAs when Shaq bought in as a minority owner.

Charlotte and Sacramento didn't get good free agents because they suck. The Jazz don't get free agents because of where they play. Wade will give Utah a little more credibility with the black athlete who may have not felt comfortable living there before. Not saying every good free agent will flock there just because of him, but it certainly helps their sales pitch to bring D Wade to the dinner with them. He also said he wants a hands on role, unlike Shaq, who just bought a piece of the Kings and was absent otherwise.

It's not gonna hurt having D Wade for sure, I just don't see it being a big factor in where a guy signs. Utah being a winning franchise right now will help a lot more, IMO.

Exactly this is great for the state of Utah. If he's as active as he says he wants to be then it could do a lot of awesome things for the community in SLC and the surrounding area.

The Jazz have always been a winning franchise though. They've been a playoff team in 30 of the last 39 seasons, and nobody big ever signs there. It has almost everything to do with the culture, or at least the perception.

If any team can free up cap space and offer the same max deals, why would a 26 year old star player choose Utah's max deal over ones offered by cities like LA, Miami, NY, etc? Not only is SLC racially isolated, its religiously isolated. The Jazz basically have to kill it in the draft or they're SOL.

Having Wade being hands on within the organization and community will be a huge deal IMO. Now a star free agent might see Utah as a legit option. Not only would they join a winner, but there's someone they respect and identify with in charge that is welcoming them in.
Ya smart move to get Wade involved.
Boom
This kinda crap happens in Utah too often
