Seems like that news is premature although it seems like it will happen soon. Neither ESPN or MLB.com has reported his death but simply say that he has been taken off life support.

Jim Fregosi went to Serra High School - same school as Barry Bonds, Tom Brady, and Lynn Swann. Catholic HS in San Mateo
