Yes, they don't boast the flashy star like Messi, Neymar, and Ronaldo. As a matter of fact, when ESPN did their top 50 players of this WC (http://www.espnfc.com/story/1822233#worldcuprank-top-50) they didn't list any German players in the Top 10, with the highest pick being Schweinsteiger at #16. Then you look at the rest of the list and realize they have 8 (EIGHT) players on the list. They can definitely sneak up on people.

it's why they're my pick to win it. They're not making me regret the pick during this game that's for sure.

Yeah, I picked them too. Germany isn't sneaking up on anybody and they have plenty of well-known talent on that team.

guess not Stoney but who in the world is giving the Germans any love to win it all? Vrabbit here in the zone? he's nobody important other than a redcoat in the zone. the world is completely in love with individual players yet this young German squad will end up shocking folks.

I never count germany out. In the past 30 years the worst they've finished is 5th in 94 and 7th in 98. Other than those 2 years, they've either finished #1, 2, or 3.

Germany are so clinical. Its redonk. On the other hand Pepe is such a clown. Way to put the nail in the coffin.

It wouldn't be a shock, dude. Most have picked Brazil because they're the host country and have a good squad, but next would have been Spain/Germany. In fact, many commentators say this may be the most wide-open WC in recent memory because of how many poor Defenses there are. I'm sorry, but if you're picked in the top 3 out of 32 teams, I don't think you can claim to potentially "shock" or "sneak up" on other teams. Germany has almost always been a powerhouse in Soccer.

In terms of individual players, I can name more Germans than any other team in the tournament save the Dutch because thats who I root for....and I'm not even a big soccer fan....I pretty much only follow the international game.

No one is shocked by Germany. Theyve contested with brilliant football since they played Spain in the 08 Euro final.

This is BAD news for USA/Ghana IMO. First of all, y'all better not tie. Second of all, Portugal is gonna be playing desperate against y'all. That's not something that you want. This beatdown in the morning is gonna make USA v. Ghana and even nastier BATTLE.

And I won't be able to watch it because I have a meeting

Given how young Muller is (24) and how prolific a goal-scorer he has been at the international level (5 goals in South Africa), he could surpass Ronaldo on the all-time goals list.

Yea I love this German team. I thought they were going to win the 12 euro. They're definitely the most cohesive team in the tournament. I have a slightly different perspective though. I think if Portugal plays this badly against the US we could sneak out a win. I think that's just wishful thinking though.

So far the top teams in the tournament have been Italy, Holland, Brazil, and Germany.

I'm not quite ready to count Spain out. If they make it to the round of 16 anything is possible. Del Bosque made a horrible decision by taking off a DM and switching to the more attacking 3 3 4. I think they're too pro to not be able to put it all back together and make a run.
