I agree he should have got an at bat, but at least he got a good seat for a great game.

Yeah, but so did 40,000+ fans. I know it was a sudden death game, but you have to send a veteran out better than that. Its just hard to believe that in his last career game, having never experienced the postseason, Bob Melvin couldnt get him a single AB in a 12 inning game.
I would have batted him in Lowrie's spot in the Top of the 9th. Then brought in Parrino in for SS defense.

In a one and done situation I dont think you consider Dunn's feelings on whether he plays or not. I agree it sucked for him but feels should not be the reason to put a guy in.
Pains me to say as sharks fan

But A's would totally fit in being a San Jose team

You dont think he couldve made a difference? It wouldnt have been a pity AB, Dunn has big power, and the game was back and forth for 12 innings. It wouldve been a sound strategy.

MLB radio was pretty down on the pirates next year. No 2nd baseman, C Martin leaving, 2 SPs leaving, and a few other things. Pretty much said their window closed because the team doesnt spend money to replace.
