If the Angels had Garrett Richards I would say they would be a favorite in the AL.
But look out for the Royals, they got the starters to carry them to the series.

Ventura, Shields, Duffy are all legit.
lol. they are going with a veteran, wins and losses are overrated evaluations of quality

Dunn was exactly what you said, but still after a 14 year career you'd at least want the guy to experience the playoffs ONCE
I agree he should have got an at bat, but at least he got a good seat for a great game.
Yeah, but so did 40,000+ fans. I know it was a sudden death game, but you have to send a veteran out better than that. Its just hard to believe that in his last career game, having never experienced the postseason, Bob Melvin couldnt get him a single AB in a 12 inning game.
In a one and done situation I dont think you consider Dunn's feelings on whether he plays or not. I agree it sucked for him but feels should not be the reason to put a guy in.
You dont think he couldve made a difference? It wouldnt have been a pity AB, Dunn has big power, and the game was back and forth for 12 innings. It wouldve been a sound strategy.
I was responding to your point that you have to "send a veteran out better than that". I dont think that is a reason to have put Dunn in at all. Now, if there was a situation with maybe 2 outs and the bases empty and you needed a long ball.. sure. All I am saying is that in a one and done game I wouldnt consider a players feelings. Winning is all that matters.

right, but their pitching staff isn't good enough to carry that team past LAA, DET, BAL...

Too bad their Game 1 starter is Jason Vargas though. I wouldnt be too excited with him going in Anaheim against that lineup stacked with RH hitters.

Man even Tyler skaggs was turning out to be raw
The Angels starters have been decimated. But I still think their offense and their improved bullpen will take them to the promise land.

Tigers-Orioles resembles a heavyweight fight. The Orioles bullpen is so good, Miller put them over the top. The Tiger starters better go deep or this will be a short series. Fun series

LA sports talk is hilarious. One dude is suggesting starting Greinke tonight because Kershaw vs, Lynn is a "guaranteed win."

Well, the Dodgers don't play tonight.
I wouldn't say Kershaw is a GUARANTEED win vs. Lynn, but it certainly is a little easier than Wainwright.

Regardless, taking Kershaw out of Game 1 gives the Cardinals a better shot of winning, setting the tone, and taking over home field.

People who call into sports talks shows are usually pretty stupid and this is the perfect example.
