Why? If the Giants sweep the Nats they dont want to wait around too long. Cards in 4 would be ideal.

would be nice to hunker down & wait to ambush another team for once....Though yeah Bochy-era Giants have done really good at grinding it out in the postseason when they're backs are against the wall...even in '10 they had to battle the Braves & phillies

Even though the Giants seem to thrive in do-or-die mode, I'd like to see for once what Bochy can do with a rest advantage in a series (especially a LCS) where he can really get his cards in order rotation and roster-wise....he'll need every edge I feel against either the Cards or Bums

I dont care if the Cards win in 4 or 5. As long as LA doesnt win.

No 5 games would be ideal because if it goes to 4 the winning team wouldn't have to burn their ace pitcher and could use this pitcher for games 1 & 5 in the NLCS. If it goes to 5 it means Wainright and Kershaw getting burned in game 5 then they would get games 3 & 7. This means if the Giants could wrap up the series in 6 games they would have to only face Wainright or Kershaw once instead of twice. Therefore the Giants benefit if the series goes 5.

This is assuming the Giants win another game and advance to the next round
