They actually had to win an extra playoff series and didnt have the home field advantage that they normally would have in the post season. If the Giants had won the title last year I somehow doubt you would be singing this tune.

It was only a 60 game season. The 2019 champions wouldn't have even made the playoffs if the season had ended at 60 games. A Major League season is supposed to be a 162 game grind. Nobody was even tired in the postseason. There was no pressure packed road games with the crowd noise bearing down on the opposing pitcher. Regular season games were decided by automatic runners in extra innings, and 7 inning double headers. It was a complete joke of an exhibition.

I didn't even want this season to happen, so I was perfectly fine with the Giants missing the playoffs. I wanted no part of them winning a title that wasn't even real.
Come on man. You are seriously reaching now. The Dodgers went 43-17 in the 60 game season. They outscored their opponents by 136 runs in those 60 games and then had to win 4 series in the post season. They also had no home field advantage in the final 3 series which they normally would have had. We can hate the Dodgers but its stupid to say they didnt deserve the title.

I was fine with the Giants missing the playoffs too because they were not good enough to be a playoff team in any season and knew they would get smoked. And I know damn well you wouldnt be saying the same thing if the Giants would have won it all. You would have been thrilled and you know it.

Those Phillies teams didn't have an offense or defense comparable to what the Dodgers have, or the Farm system. Dodgers still have a bunch of players that are really good in the minors.

They are stacked now, and have a great pipeline and player development system.

Were talking about 2021, not the development pipeline. My point is, don't assume the Dodgers are going to win just because their rotation is stacked, because the Phillies tried the same thing and it didn't work. Besides the point, but 2010-2012 Phillies offense was pretty darn stacked as well. Howard, Utley, Rollins, Pence, Victorino, Ruiz, Ibanez, Werth, Polanco, etc.

Good offense, but not as good as the Dodgers. This dodgers team has the potential to go down as one of the all time greats. So much damn talent.
Sad but true. Obviously there are no guarantees in the playoffs but I would guarantee they will at least be in the playoffs with a chance to repeat. I just dont see a weakness with the possible exception of not having a great closer.

This. 99, you have to let that go man. They won it. They were the best team and are the best team headed into this season.

I would say in some aspects the season/playoffs were easier than normal, but you can make the case it was also harder because of the uncertainty of covid. Which has been talked about by athletes in multiple sports.

This has nothing to do with the Dodgers. At the beginning of the season I stated many times that they shouldn't even bother playing because of how much they would need to alter things. The Dodgers were champions this year. It just wasn't a real season. It was a Covid exhibition. Only 37% of a full MLB season. 60 games is the equivalent of a 6 game NFL season. To pretend it was equal to a normal season is ridiculous.

My opinion would be the exact same if the Giants had won. The WS championship, the batting titles, the MVP, the CY, etc. Its not the same thing. I just cant recognize any of it alongside the rest of the championships and awards that were earned over a far longer grind of a season. Just my opinion.
