Pujols was a great hitter in St Louis but Bonds was the better all around player pre steroids and obviously when on steroids. I dont see how this can even be a debate to be honest.

It isnt a debate.

ya as much as i dont like Bonds, he's the better player. nobody is placing Pujols in a top 5 list, but you will see Bonds in there.

Pujols did put up some incredible numbers in StL. I believe he is the 2nd greatest 1B of all time behind only Lou Gehrig. Certainly the best in our lifetime. And he was versatile enough to play the OF and 3B early in his career. Just an amazing player. But not the all around player Bonds was.

Exactly, it's not even close.

Will say Pujols is probably the greatest player of all time in terms of people who have lied about their age though.

It's not cheating if damn near everyone is doing it.

ya, that's the main issue with the steroids era. who was legit and who wasn't. plenty of players got away with and we will really never know.

you can't asterisk one player and not asterisk another from that era.

Yes it is still cheating and not damn near every player was cheating. There were a lot, but no where close to every damn player. And Bonds was clearly the better player and I'm far from a Bonds fan after he cheated.

The league knew it was happening including the commissioner. If they're not doing anything about it then how is it truly cheating? Only reason why they did is because of the Balco Scandal and the media pressure. Before that though, they marketed their entire game around it. If you're gonna be critical of some players than be critical of the entire league because without the league's backing it would have never gotten to the point that it did. I don't blame the MLB though it was the last time the game was truly popular nationwide. Hardcore and casual fans flocked to it.

Yup.

If you're running a company and even if its just 1/10th of your employees doing illegal things, and you are fine with it, well, the whole company is corrupt. And don't be surprised when you are guilty by association, as unfair as it might be.

As far I know, David Eckstein was on roids lmao

Jk, David, I love you.
