Seriously? LOL You must think that pitchers are robots and can throw the ball wherever they want without any error. Pitchers dont just aim right down the middle because they know those pitches get killed. They have to mix locations which includes up and in. And with that there will be guys who get hit even those its totally accidental.

I totally agree with those who think this idea is stupid.

Here's why it makes sense

Flaherty hits India in the head. (Second headshot for StL this year) and they discuss and give warnings to both sides... because they don't want retaliation.

It's lose lose for the team getting hit in the head because they potentially have a hurt player, can't do anything about it, and if they make a mistake an hit a batter THEY get ejected. It's just unnecessary.

Headshot, ejection, no warnings. Simplify the process. You protect more players this way by removing the need for retaliation.

It doesnt.

this. And if a team feels it was on purpose and wants to retaliate, they dont care if the player was ejected. they will get him next time they face him. You aren't stopping retaliation by ejecting, you are just prolonging it.

But mostly it doesnt make sense because of what was stated above.

I was going to come here and talk about the amount of no hitters and accusations of pitchers using substances to increase spin rates. I think there is something to it.
I think everyone is overthinking everything about baseball.

Primarily Rob Manfred.

Manfred kills me, but if you get past the first two mins of garce's video, it does highlight a big problem. Although, they are leaving out the change in swing planes as context of this discussion. Adding foreign substance has moved past improving grip to increasing spin rates...so walk and hit batters are up, and hitters either hit HRs or K.

Man, thats a damn shame. They need to work that out. True Oakland fans always get screwed - Raiders, Warriors left, and now the A's.
Yeah it really is. I love going to A's games. Love the sport so much I dont even care who is playing. And I always root for them even though A's fans hate Giants fans. Would be a shame to not be a two team market anymore.
Good f**king riddance. I can't stand watching games up there with the foghorns, bongos or tribal gongs whatever the hell they are pounding in the stands. Feels like I'm watching an El Salvadorian 3rd level soccer league

they can go try Expos 2.0 ....
but in all seriousness, Omaha would be a good pick. They love baseball there. (College World Series there every year)

I dont see any chance for Omaha. I think MLB wants a much bigger market and that screams Las Vegas to me. They can join the Raiders there.

Empty threats, just like the empty promises Oakland makes about a stadium. Realistically, where are the A's going to go? Very few cities without teams can support one. Maybe San Antonio? I just dont see the A's leaving an enormous media market like the bay area for some AAA city.

Ultimately its probably just a game of Chicken that the city of Oakland will end up conceding because they wont want to have lost their 3rd professional team in such a short span.

Does Vegas have the capability to go from supporting 0 pro teams to 3 this quickly?

If the A's move to Vegas, Pete Rose needs to start marketing himself as a big A's fan in partnership with Draft Kings, just to make MLB look bad.
