Lousy stadium, shoestring budget, empty seats, that's the Rays and they may go all the way.

It's amusing that the Rays are threatening to move to Montreal, who already lost their team for having a lousy stadium, shoestring budget, and empty seats.

Not surprised. About once or twice a decade you have one of these very small market teams make deep runs or even win it all. The fact that drafted players are under such a long contract, it makes it easy to tank and stock pile young talent for a bunch of years.

I agree with you but the Rays are competitive every year. They have 3 rookie starters. Maybe other front offices don't want to pay attention to a team with the 4th lowest payroll in MLB that has a recipe for success. Their jobs could be in jeopardy. They could be in their second WS in a row. The last team to win two Championships in a row was the Big Red Machine 45 years ago. Go Rays, Break the Wheel.

So, is Trevor Bauer pitching for the Doggers today 100 mill more in payroll for 1 less reg season win and staring at a deficit in their 1st series. How embarrassing. Oh, and thanks for Farhan too.

David Samson was on LeBatard on Thursday and was pointing out how they're the only team in baseball where the owner truly lets the GM and everyone else do their jobs to put the best team out on the field. He doesn't try to push for signings or anything. He lets them do their jobs.
As for the Montreal move, Samson believes Stuart Sternberg is threatening that only so someone in the Tampa area can buy the team and he can walk away with over a billion dollars.
