Remember our Knizner/Molina/Herrera conversation?

I mean....I stand by my opinion that it is beyond time for you to move on from Yadi. Knizner had been struggle city recently though.

Well yeah. This is Yadi's last year.....and he has been BAD. Not even just from a performance side, but just effort. He has clocked out it seems at times.

Herrera is the future.

As a diehard halo fan, I agree that he deserves better. Its hard bc he signed a 10 year deal knowing our org sucks. But if he says he wants out, we have to grant him that after all he's given us.

And because he hates the attention. The MLB has been trying to make him the face of the league for years and he doesn't want anything to do with it. He just wants to play.

if they were on tv more and in the playoffs, WS, etc. he wouldnt have to do anything other than play.

That's not true. You gotta market your stars to general audiences to bring people in. They need a younger fanbase, that's not gonna happen just by playing the same game as always. Baseball isn't as relevant nowadays as it used to be. NASCAR is having the same issue with the most popular driver in the sport being one of the most private drivers in the garage. Both sports are struggling in today's market because they don't have the same marketable guys like you had in the 90s and 2000s.

while I agree with you on marketing players, it doesnt have to be Trout. My point on Trout is you just dont get to see him and he's amazing. And its because the Angels dont win. If he was on the Dodgers or some other team that is always on TV, in the playoffs, the WS, people would be seeing him on display. People watch the post season and national games, but baseball fans are very regional. No f**king way I am watching a Phillies game just because my team isnt playing. People watch netflix.

The problem you are describing has been around for a while. They need to do a better job of highlighting all the games stars. Make them the face like the NBA does. Not just a select few. They are starting to do it with guys like Judge, etc. That and allowing a little more showboating and younger fans will watch.

Gotcha, I completely agree with everything you just said especially with showboating and all that stuff. It's such a stiff game that is held back by unwritten rules and I wish some of the players and managers would get over it and see the bigger picture. The Savannah Bananas are obviously an extreme comparison but they sell out everywhere they go and people are having fun in the crowds throughout the game. MLB needs to see that and realize that trying to play a game as it was played in 1930 isn't gonna cut it nowadays. You don't have to be goofy but you can improve it and make it more appealing to today's audience.
Gotta say that was bushleague by Angels.. dumb franchise.. just terrible. You're gonna hit batters cuz a ball got near Trout? You're gonna put in a goon to start and hit ppl? Flat out embarrassing.
