Not just JR - Kyrie didn't win s**t it played winning basketball. Getting thru to him (it did take time) and getting Thompson to play the role he does is also great examples of leadership.
IMO - regardless of how season ends - this is Lebron's finest season. This year has been way more than about stats for him.

Cleveland will not beat GS because they have to depend on guys like JR to go off. If he didn't have that career game, they probably would have lost game one.

Lebron is simply amazing. What a game - no Kyrie no Love and still wins on the road against 60 wins team with rejects and backups lol

Delladova is definitely a backup, but Shump, JR, Thompson, and Mozgov are solid players. They had some fantastic acquisitions which have saved their season. In my opinion, the current cast he has without Irving and Love is still stronger than what he had when he left Cleveland (Mo Williams, Anthony Parker, Varajao, over the hill Shaq and Ilgauskas). With a healthy Irving, they may be the best team in the league because Lebron is playing almost as well as he did when he left Cleveland.

Mozgov was a back up center for Denver...Knicks were handing out free blowjobs for anyone who will take JR Smith and found a taker in Cavs when they added Shumpurt as well. Thompson is a backup PF in this league. He was so bad shooting the ball - he decided to change his shooting hand after year 2 in the NBA.
Kyrie couldn't get his team in playoff contention in the East and he had better roster last year than what Lebron has currently.
These guys are gritty back up or 4th 5th option players. No other player in their prime is taking this group to series win against a Bulls or Hawks team.
And...look at the Miami Heat

Cleveland traded 2 first rd picks for Mozgov. He was clearly viewed as way more than a backup center.

I think Lebron is the best player in the league, but that's just not true. Other players can get hot and win a few games almost by themselves. Curry is a prime example. When he's hot from 3, there's not much you can do to stop him. Curry has had arguably as good a playoffs as Lebron. He has more help, but he's also facing tougher competition in the West.
JR Smith is a solid player, but the Knicks wanted to get rid of him because he's somewhat of a head case and is making $6.5 million a year. He's a great athlete (has the tools to be a great defender) and a good shooter. He'd be a solid third option on most teams and his issue on the Knicks was that he considered himself a first option.
Iman Shumpert can start for most teams in the NBA. He's a great defender who plays hard and can shoot. The Cavs were lucky they were able to get him thrown into the JR Smith deal.
Tristan Thompson is going to get paid $15 million a year in the offseason. The Bulls could not box him out and he's made strides defensively. He was already offered a 4 year $52 million deal prior to the season. That's a lot of money for a backup PF.
Timothy Mozgov is another guy who could start for a number of teams in the league. He rebounds, defends, and set screens and shoots a high % from the FT line. He's not a go-to option on offense, but he's a solid player in the league. And as Ninerjohn pointed out, the Cavs gave up 2 first round picks for him.
Matthew Dellavedova is a gritty back up player in this league, but this is not a team full of Dellavedovas. When Irving comes back, Lebron will have a very strong supporting cast again.

After Varejao got hurt - they were desperate. Plus, Blatt coached Mozgov and he badly wanted Mozgov.
He plays less for Cavs as he did for Nuggets. He just starts in 1st quarter but never finishes the game. He is starting only because Blatg likes TT to bring energy to the second unit - so TT was better suited in the role.
Mozgov is paying even less in the playoffs.
Two late 2nd round picks in NBA isn't a whole lot.

5th straight NBA finals for Lebron. Just amazing feat and leadership considering all the injuries and adversity his team has gone thru this season.
This team was so divided in Nov/Dec and now it looks completely opposite.

...man, what an end to the 2014-2015 season. Didn't expect to reach the NBA Finals once Love went out. Then Kyrie got hurt and I thought Bulls were gonna mop the floor with this team.
But, last 2 months have been fukin' awesome. Hopefully, guys like Shump, Thompson, Delly, Kyrie (and to some extent - Kevin Love) got a taste of playoffs and learned a lot from this experience. Lebron was just incredible in the playoffs.
Really hoping they re-sign Love, Thompson, and Shumpert. Gotta stay healthy next year and go for it again. Hopefully, it's the Warriors v. Cavs in 2016 as well.
I love me some NBA...can't wait for Nov.!!!
