I wasn't trying to say Duvall would be the centerpiece for a trade, more an asset to sweeten the deal. Like pd said, he could be thrown in as another piece to get a SP, OF or RP.

Duvall isn't a bad prospect at all, he's just not a very good 3rd basemen which is why they didn't look to him as an answer to replace McGIDP. He's been playing more 1st these days, and could be a very good option for some teams as a backup (121 HRs in 5 minor league seasons is pretty special). We're good at 3rd and 1st so he's just not needed here.

I dont disagree but with his limited trade value right now I think he could be more valuable as a bench RH bat. Now if by adding him to a deal we could get someone good.. then that would be fine.

Might not be a bad idea to wait and see if he really has made this progress he was talking about with his swing. He runs ok, maybe a little work in LF? Any guy that can play third ought to be able to catch a flyball, no?

He probably couldn't be any worse than Ishikawa in LF and we won a ring with him there. But again, once Aoki gets back, there's not going to be a lot of ABs for anyone else in LF.

This. The only way he is around in the next month or two is a late call up for a RH pinch hitter off the bench. But Maxwell probably doesn't want to give that job up, plays better D, and now has a ton of experience.

I would rather take my chances with Duvall over Maxwell coming off the bench. If all of our outfielders are healthy the 5th OF isnt going to see anytime starting anyway and hardly anytime at all in the field. Duval would give them some back up at 3rd, 1st, and possibly a corner OF. Maxwell has an OBP of .269. That is an embarrasment for a major league outfielder.

Duvall's power definitely is tempting. He plays defense average at best at 3/4 corner spots. His thump could be worth a try. He may be a little "Rob Deerish", which is kind of cool.

I agree, but we talking about Boch here. He is loyal, stays with guys, and that's why the players love him. I would love to see Duvall also, but I don't think we will unless he is hot during call ups. I think he comes up when we expand. It's on him after that.

Right now, I just want Aoki back. But Pagan is so much better in the lead off spot than other places. I wonder where they hit Pagan when he comes back.

LOL One hit doesnt mean he doesnt suck as a hitter. Lifetime .220 hitter who strikes out way too much. But yes he can run in to one once in awhile.
Pence!
Love Pence. He looks terrifying at the plate. What is he again? 11'?
