Wow, Josh Osich just took over in the 8th inning with the bases loaded and no outs and proceeded to strikeout the side. He threw 10 of his 11 pitches for strikes, mixing in a nasty slider/changeup with his 96 MPH fastball to hold a 4-1 lead in Sacramento.
Nasty.
Nasty.

Yes
3.56 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP pitching for the Reds this year. I cant wait to see what he'll do in a pitchers park.
We already kind of know.
His ERA was almost 5 Great American Park and a 1.46 WHIP (which is average to below average).
He was great on the road - so that's the no. I'm interested in - 2.28 ERA and .86 WHIP (which is elite).
0.86 WHIP is better than elite. Im just hoping that if he can put up ERA's in the mid 3's while pitching half his starts at Great American, substituting AT&T in instead will reveal his true value and potential.

Delino DeShields popped a ball up, was upset that he just missed one and flipped his bat up in the air on his way down to 1st. Bumgarner doesnt like that, as hes proven before, and he started yelling at DeShields.
The benches cleared out, but no fighting. Beltre came out to protect the rookie, and Bum did his usual "Lets go!", and Beltre was yelling "whats your problem!?" back at Bum.
Bumgarner was already having a bad game, and Odor's dirty slide into Panik's legs probably didnt help the situation.
People thought it was directly related to the Odor/Panik thing, but it was just Bum getting angry at a batter showing him up, as hes done before. Just sending a message to hitters.

Lol its not showing him up. The batter is mad at himself, nothing to do with bumgarner. That dude needs to settle down

how is that any different from when a pitcher makes a bad pitch and a dude crushes it and the pitcher starts screaming in his glove?
I dont know if Bumgarner has done that, havent watched him enough but you dont see batters getting mad at pitchers that do that

Because that implies that youre upset that you didnt crush the pitch, which is disrespectful to the pitcher.
Bumgarner doesnt care if a batter is mad about making an out, its the manner in which they act afterwards. DeShields flipped his bat and yelled as if he was expecting to get a hit off him, like he missed an easy one.
Plus hes a rookie, so he has no place to be showing up anyone.
Most pitchers wouldnt say anything, but Bumgarner sets his own standards, and lets people know if he doesnt like it. Plus he can back it up.

Nail on the head...that describes me, too. Why, I'm so old school, I still spell it "school". Ghost, feelings about Duvall gone?

Love Bum but I completely agree. That flip wasnt showing up Bumgarner in anyway. Stupid reaction

Frustrated over giving up runs, the cheap shot on Panik, etc. I love his fire. It wasn't a big deal. Didn't bother me.

Honestly he might want that, or else he wouldn't do stuff like that. He might drop a hammer on fools just like he does when batting at the plate. He is a big ass dude.
