Excited to see this kid. Bring some serious speed to the the team. I'm gonna bet he takes Adrianzas spot.

Would like to see that, Tomlinson taking Adrianza's spot once Panik returns. Hopefully, Tomlinson can show something while he's up to make this happen - this team can use quality IF depth. Is Tomlinson a homegrown Giants player or was he acquired sometime ago?

It might be too much to ask for Tomlinson to be like Duffy....but what if he is? Should be fun finding out. We've been pretty lucky lately. I'm ready to look at Hunter Cole on center of Pagan doesn't pick it up. He's another scrapper.

Not sure Cole defensively could take on the challenge of CF at AT&T but love his bat. When you get promoted 3 times in one year and are at the top of the league in hitting in two different leagues (he'd be 4th in the EL if he qualified, and he left the Cal League leading at or near the top in BA) you're doing something special.

Tomlinson was a 12th round pick by the Giants in 2011.

Thanks Ghost. Great to hear about another homegrown player in Tomlinson. I wish I had the time to pay more attention to the talent in our minor league system...no matter what the "experts" say and have said over the years, the Giants have produced and currently do have some really good talent in their system.
Wouldn't mind throwing Tomlinson right in there tonight vs. the Braves...but, I just read Adrianza is starting again. Come on, Cain - need a good game out of you!
Dammit, we just cant get a healthy 2B to play all season.

Hope it isn't a chronic problem.

There's definitely major league talent in our system, just clearly not the high-end talent that other teams have....but the talent that's there (specifically position players and relief arms) will continue to help this team chase titles for many years (IMO). Where we lack serious firepower is starting pitching. There's not really a top-of-the-rotation arm that I can see. Someone could develop like Bickford or maybe a Michael Santos, but they're both a long ways away and specifically those two are more likely to be mid-rotation guys.

What is it with our World Series winning second basemen having back problems right after they won the WS? Every single one.
Pagan now out tonight - soreness in both knees. Maybe he should just get some rest on the DL and get right? Murphys mentioned it earlier today - Hunter Cole time?

Agreed. Which is why I still think they should make every effort to keep Crick as a starter.

Agreed on Crick - try to keep him a starter. What about Beede in a year or two being in the top third of the rotation? He's progressed well in a short period in the minors.

Freddy Sanchez jacked up his shoulder in 2011, but point taken. Seems curse-like.

If Crick can keep from self-destructing as a starter, absolutely. You just hate to mess with a guy who just got right and ask him to change his routine, because whatever he's doing in relief is working.

As for Beede, it's definitely possible. He's got some mechanical things to work out as well but he's got good enough stuff to be a #3 guy.
