The amount of hate thrown at Pablo by fellow Giants fans actually makes me sick.

The guy was loved in SF. But, he threw it all away. He couldn't keep himself in shape and turned down a huge contract over 100M to stay with his teammates shortly after he said in front of everyone that he wanted to come back.

I am glad he is gone and thankful that Boston bailed the Giants out of a HUGE (pun intended) mistake. I dont root against him like I do against Dusty Baker teams. Afterall, he was a big cog in 2 of our WS titles. But I wont root for him either.

Dont disagree with this at all. Not rooting for someone is not the same as name calling and pure hatred. The fact that so many Giants are quick to turn on a guy who was instrumental in bringing the team you love 2 rings upsets me. Dude could be 500 pounds and eat himself out of baseball, and I would never have bad things to say about the guy. He was one of the keys to the glory years of the team we all love, and for that I will be forever grateful.

You seem to forget about the part where the Giants offered him above market value to stay, but because they lowballed him (because of weight problems) earlier that year, he spurned them.

He went to Boston, and started talking all kinds of crap about SF. He dissed his teammates, who he couldn't have won those rings without. He also failed to recognize the Giants for signing him and developing him.

Pablo burned his bridges to the ground. He deserves to have every Giants fan rooting against him now. To have a successful career here, win titles, and have the overwhelming support of the fans, despite laziness, he should be nothing but grateful of his time here. But, he chose to be a punk, and talk crap on his way out the door.

And then Aubrey Huff came out and told everyone how the Giants clubhouse really felt about him. He wasnt exactly this warm, loveable Panda character that everyone assumed.

Pablo has no right to still have any of the support of his former team or fans in the bay area after the petty way he left.

I don't hate the dude, and I don't root against him, but he deserves some s**t thrown his way. I'm not upset that he took more money and left, but he didn't have to go running his mouth talking s**t after he left. Had he just said he enjoyed his time as a giant and left it at that, he would be adored by Giant fans forever. Instead he talked s**t and the real reason he left (so he didn't have to be held to a weight standard and put in work) is going to be his demise.

I am not disagreeing with you at all... but do you remember when he hit three home runs in Game 1 of the 2012 WS, against Verlander??!

Maybe he and the Giants had a bad break up, but you cant deny he was a huge part of the team in his prime years. He loved the fans and the fans loved him back. I'm with SteveWallace. You may disagree with the business side of how he left the Giants, but on the field, he was one of the greatest Giants of all time and when he's done with baseball Giants fans will still remember him.

Pablo's daily offseason workout.

It's really embarrassing when you consider he has the resources to hire the best personal chefs/nutritionists/trainers in the world. But he's too lazy and undisciplined for his own good. He'll learn the hard way when he becomes a diabetic if he's not one already.

Business side of leaving has nothing to do with talking s**t about the organization. If he just left without talking s**t, nobody would be mad at him. 99% of giants fans are just glad he moved on because of the weight. Has nothing to do with his success as a Giant.

Yeah, him being an a*****e about leaving leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Plenty of Giants have come and gone, not all of them have been dicks about it like Sandoval has. Karma's a b***h.

See.. that is the problem and why people are disgusted with him. You get to play a game and make a fortune. At least take it seriously, get in shape, and quit being fat and lazy. I promise you the Red Sox fans hate the guy right now because of it. But by all means Pablo... if the Red Sox didn't ask you to lose weight then just continue to be a fattie. SMH.

Plus, wasnt his brother his agent or something? I thought I read somewhere that he helped convince Pablo to ditch SF.

We blew about 7 more SB titles with bonehead mistakes...

People acting like 2011 would have been an automatic win against the Patriots, and 2013 would have been automatic against Denver. Woulda been nice though

Based on the type of team we had, our losses in 2011 came against teams built like us. Ravens, Giants, and Vikings. The Pats were an offensive finesse team, which we routinely handled. Obviously you can never just assume a win against Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, but were were a better team than NY, and they still beat NE.

2013 wouldve been automatic. Denver was no match for either of us that year. Everyone knew the NFC title game was the Super Bowl.

Its great that we got 5, but it could've been so much more.

Actually, in 2011 reg. season we lost to Dallas, Baltimore, and AZ. They lost to the Giants and Vikings in 2012 reg. season. I agree we certainly could have a few more rings. I still wouldn't say 2013 Super Bowl would have been automatic though. As it turned out in the end, yes the NFCCG that year was the Super Bowl, but you never know what would have happened if it was the Niners against Denver instead, just like if it had been New England that year in the Super Bowl instead of Denver. All I'm saying is nothing is automatic, it's all about how certain teams match up against each other, and stuff can change from week to week.

Either way, yes we should have won at least 1 super bowl from 2011-2013, plus the other years you mentioned already

What thread am I in?

At some point last week or so, the subject of this thread somehow got shifted to something about the Niners. Not sure how it started exactly, but I just was reading back to the last time I was logged in to the forum and I wanted to quote something.

I agree though, it's baseball time!!
Can anyone offer their opinion on something regarding my ability to watch Giants games please???

I first moved out of the bay area in 2012, and I purchased MLB extra innings with Cox cable company. I got to see all the games, however most of the time especially on road games, I had to listen to the opposing team's broadcasters, and this drove me nuts. There was almost never a choice of which broadcast feed I got to watch. Plus, during home games, there was usually a game from the east coast at 4 pm Pacific time on before the Giants game and I would have to miss to first few innings of the Giants til the previous game was over. I ended up switching to Directv the next year so I could get NFL Sunday Ticket.

Anyways, for baseball my ex wife's parents had MLB.tv subscription and they gave me their password so I could use their profile on my smart tv. I even used it last year, after I divorced their daughter. It worked for the last couple seasons, but it definitely had some annoying traits about it, which I wont mention here. Anyways, I have no clue if I will still have access to their password this season because as I said, she is my ex wife now.

I have no problem spending the $300 or whatever it is, but I was wondering if anyone in here is really familiar with the MLB extra innings package through Directv? Do the problems I mentioned above with my MLB extra innings with Cox exist with Directv? If I can't choose the broadcast feed and listen to Kruk & Kuip for every game, then I definitely do not want it. Any insight would be appreciated fellow Giants fans!! If I don't get the extra innings, then I guess I will get my own MLB.tv subscription, but there are definitely some annoying things with that too and I would prefer to be able to just DVR every game rather than stream them.

Thanks!!
