Brandon Belt. Perennial Cactus League MVP. Would be nice to see it translate to the regular season for once.

Hes just streaky. It happens in the regular season too. He gets WHITE hot, everyone gets all excited and say "hes finally arrived!" Then he goes ice cold, and every says "Its never going to happen for Belt, we need to trade him."

If he stays healthy, hes a 20 HR guy whos going to hit .280 and drive in 80 runs. Hes just going to do it in a series of terrible slumps and hot streaks.

Yeah, streaky is putting it mildly. He is white hot for 2 weeks, and then ice cold for a month and a half. He has hot streaks like very few players have. But his cold streaks are typically very long and painful. But because he was so hot for the 2 weeks, it makes his overall stats seem better than they are. I would prefer a little consistency out of him, but I guess as long as he produces overall, I am ok with it.

I would rather have a player hit .275 consistently than a player hit .600 for 2 weeks and then hit .180 for the next 6 weeks and bring his overall average down to the .275 over the 8 weeks stretch.

Yeah I got Belt right around 13 or 14.

If player A hits .275 with 20 HR while playing consistently solid ball, and player B hits .275 with 20 HR going hot and cold, it really makes no difference, because they ended up at the same end point. You just cant let a players' hot or cold streak get you too hyped up either way.

Thats what happens when you post on the Zone while flying a plane.
Ok, lets hear some Giants All-Star predictions.

Ill say Posey, Bum, and Duffy. Hopefully more, but Bochy isnt picking the players.

Dudes, I will be making a new giants thread later this week. My threads have had the same design for years, so I will keep that tradition. Looking for my gifs to construct it.

If you want to be part of the design, pm me the li k to the gif you would like to see in the thread. Or anything else you'd like to see. I have cleared my PMs and ready to receive. It gets lost in here so pm works better.
All stars..

Posey
Bum
Crawford
Pence
I think it will be tough for Duffy to make the AS game simply because of the position he plays. Arenado and Bryant will be locks if they come close to what they did last year.

Agreed. Panik could have a shot if he hits around.300 again. And so could Cueto.
Posey's birthday today...on Easter. See the connection. I've been saying.

Yep. There isnt the dominant 2B in the NL and Panik would have a better shot for sure than the Duff man. I put Pence on there more on a hunch that he comes back strong this year. Nothing at all to base this on though.
I am going to the Giants- Padres series again in San Diego. 3 night games in May plus 3 rounds of golf during the day. Cant wait.

For those that have never done a trip to see the Giants in SD it is well worth it. Petco is a great park and the gaslamp district near the stadium is a lot of fun with terrific restaurants. We went to a place right next to Petco that must have had 75% Giants fans with everyone wearing their jerseys. SO much fun.
