Agreed. Panik could have a shot if he hits around.300 again. And so could Cueto.

Yep. There isnt the dominant 2B in the NL and Panik would have a better shot for sure than the Duff man. I put Pence on there more on a hunch that he comes back strong this year. Nothing at all to base this on though.

I just have a feeling that Matt Duffy is the real deal, and then some. Last year he had a breakout year that caught local attention. This year he could be poised to gain some national attention. I dont think its out of the question that he could be a top 2 NL 3B at the All-Star break. Bryant is going to have big pressure to take the next step. I wouldn't be shocked if he starts slow.

Either way, the Giants have about 12 guys that are good enough to end up in a spot to get an All-Star selection, so it should be a good year.

I cant help but worry about Panik's back. Lets hope it doesn't become a recurring problem.

Not sure how Cain doesn't land on the "DL" or something in favor of Heston at some point this year. Love old Cainer but dude is a shell of himself. Sad.

Doubt it. He should take a year off and let his arm get strong again. Fix his mechanics with his dad. Come back fresh with someone.

I am going to the Giants- Padres series again in San Diego. 3 night games in May plus 3 rounds of golf during the day. Cant wait.

For those that have never done a trip to see the Giants in SD it is well worth it. Petco is a great park and the gaslamp district near the stadium is a lot of fun with terrific restaurants. We went to a place right next to Petco that must have had 75% Giants fans with everyone wearing their jerseys. SO much fun.

I love the Gaslamp, and yes I have been there many times for Giant-Padre games. You are right, the whole area gets overrun by Giant fans and it is a fantastic atmosphere. I was there last year for the opening series...I usually stay at the Gaslamp Hilton right by the ballpark. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the early May series that you are going to because I'm already scheduled for the first two weeks of May.

Hey John, try out Lou and Mickey's Steakhouse near the ballpark while you are there if you haven't yet. My wife and I always sit at the bar that is open out to the street and have some drinks and dinner, great atmosphere and good food!

Guess Pence was about to put the beatdown on Latos, Latos is such a douche.

I like Duffy a lot but he isnt the player that Kris Bryant is. You can pretty much pencil in that Arenado and Bryant will be all stars. Maybe Duffy has a big year and gets in as a 3rd 3B. But to me its far more likely that Panik and Crawford make the team given the weakness at both 2B and SS in the league.

Lots of questions marks on this staff outside of Bum. Could be good or really bad but Cain will not be in this rotation all year. You can get everything you have that he will be on the DL at some point.

Thanks man. Will check that out! Golf, Giants, and great food. What could be better.
Not that exhibition game stats mean all that much but Pence's spring has been encouraging. 6 Homeruns and a batting average of .484 is nice to see. I think Hunter is going to have a big year as long as he can stay healthy.
