If Cueto stays healthy hes a 2nd ace. Samardzija was definately a buy low signing though. Mike Leake almost got the same amount, but with nowhere near the upside.

What's does everyone think about the chances of Cain rebounding this year and coming into a zone?

I don't think he will ever again be what he was a few years ago...not even close. I just want him to be healthy enough to be a solid 4-5 in the rotation, expecting any more from him isn't realistic.

If he isnt hurt or one of the worst pitchers in baseball this year, it will be a pleasant surprise.

The Giants pay for past performance in the organization. That's part of the perks and incentive.
