In League it serves no purpose other than to get keep the forwards out of the game for a minute. A lot of people would like to see the League scrums either contested or scrapped.

Yeah they used to be contested .. its a joke now might as well just hand the ball over.. does waste some time for guys to get their breaths tho if used stratically..

Dumb ass Cowboys had it on the 1 meter line and then threw it back like 15 meters. They were right there. Just plow it in. lol

Yeah they are a joke. The referees (umpires) can't clean them up. Would take too many years or being tough on infractions and the game can't afford to get slowed down by a whistle happy ref. So it's just accepted that the scrum is an ineffective legacy part of the game.

If you notice ... Most of those grey haired guys have played entire game defense and offense and not gone off.. Jarryd was the same an 80 minute player .. Thats a huge difference to what he see's now in NFL where every run is a full speed ahead run.. They are both different games..

I think you're right, and even though they're my home team I'm scared because my missus loves the cowboys and has money riding on them, not gonna be a happy camper.

Still pretty much an arm wrestle, but Broncos are staving off everything the Cowboys are throwing at them so far. Amazing defence.

Would be interesting to see an NFL inspired hurdle/dive over RB style. Still have to safely ground the ball though. Maybe a hurdle triple somersault will ball grounding pike?
