I wish Meriwether would have fought him just to settle that one

True, Z... Even though you jest. Anthony deserves to be on the list.

It's about committing to becoming a success in the new code, & all on the list did that. "The Man" included.

And on that note..Well done Boyd Cordner for the big VC next to his name after the naming of the Aus squad
Cam Smith is the main C
Talk about work ethic/ticker and smarts

Very strong Kangaroos team. Will be nearly impossible to beat.

I'm kind of torn about James Tedesco RLWC situation. I know it's about selling tickets, & generating interest / TV numbers, but allowing players change national allegiance makes a mockery of the system.

James is capped as an Italian, & shouldn't be eligible to play for Australia. If he had been picked for Australia he'd have turned his back on Italy, but because he didn't make the squad, Italy is his fallback.

Don't get me wrong, he'll contribute & make Italy a stronger side, but it makes a joke of the international game.
Jason Taumalolo turns his back on New Zealand to represent Tonga in Rugby League World Cup

THE Kiwis' Rugby League World Cup campaign is in disarray after Jason Taumalolo decided to turn his back on New Zealand to represent Tonga.The Daily Telegraph broke the story on Wednesday, before several New Zealand-based outlets followed, reporting that Taumalolo had made the massive call to defect due to coach David Kidwell's decision to stand down star forwards Jesse Bromwich and Kevin Proctor over a cocaine bust in Canberra following their Test loss to Australia in May.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Great news for Tonga, but terrible for NZ & the chances of a competitive RLWC.
Better hope England put up a fight? Because NZ is pretty much out of the race.
Good for the 2nd tier nations.
I reckon Kidwell has lost the playing group.
I got into a bit of a scrap online with an old school mate at the time of the Anzac test.
I said the biggest difference between the two sides at the game was the coach. I've stood by my thoughts when he was announced as coach he is not the answer.
Yeah mate, my comment was only half in jest. He's definitely a successful cross-sport athlete, just not to the extent he proclaims, in my opinion.
All the Kiwi defections are interesting. Will be interesting to see the make-up of their team minus the "superstars". Could be a chance of emulating Qld in the '95 Origin series, where a team of "Neville's" beat the stars. Probably not though.
I'd really like to see England do well.
Perhaps it is about time to extend State of Origin to Victoria and New Zealand??
LOL... Now Fifita's jump ship
Tonga's gonna have one hell of a team.
But, seriously RLWC wtf?
How can you play Origin for NSW & represent Tonga
Don't overthink it might. After all they are football players
LOL... True
I just wish they'd stay with the rep teams they originally chose. Taumalolo for example first represented Tonga, well he should only represent Tonga then. Not switch back & forth.
Switch all you like at club, not a rep level.
Just noticed me, Locky and Rabs are all sitting on 49 in the Pick 'em comp. An omen, perhaps?
Oh I am sure this is just click bait but a New York Rugby League club is showing interest in Jarwood Hayne to play for them in a trans Atlantic series with the poms.
I hope it is true and he buggers off there and never has to play league in Australia again.
Go Hayne. Don't let the door hit you in the bum on the way out.
