NRL Rugby League, General Discussion.

Absolute flogging. Well Done, NSW. Enjoy the spoils.

Freddy vindicated. I apologise. I love Latrell, but he won't be back this year.

We're gonna need to dig deep for game 3. NSW with all the momentum heading into the decider.

Yep, absolute shellacking. Maybe wasn't quite the advertisement the NRL might have been looking for as the pinnacle of rugby league. A closer game might have done more to attract new fans in the west.

Agreed. Shame it wasn't a typical Origin thriller to get the fans out west hooked. But, that's sport.

They still would have enjoyed the occasion imo. Record crowd after all.

Great turnout, must say I thought NSW supporters were more vocal even before scoring a few points.

Our forwards just couldn't get the metres to build pressure. This in turn gave their kick returns easy territory.

NSW dominated the ruck, infact every facet of the game.
We looked flat, lacking intensity, line speed.
Also seemed to be not much talk.

Where to from here?
Arrow and Offa are big losses, that should be Wallace's last origin jumper.
Geez we are light on quality backs..

Yep and listening to a radio program Belcher and Sattler were putting it out there about
calling on the great Cam Smith for a lifeline ....A la Langer
This may not be a bad idea considering Cam is still playing great footy
(and not in England)
Ponga is going to be a superstar but he is so young, the team can't rely on him to do it all
Mat Scott is a name not mentioned much now but his steadying influence is missed
Coach Walters has a job on his hands to fix this

Thanks mate. Its not often I get it right but the writing was on the wall. Cant see my adopted home of QLD finding the cattle to turn it around. Next year will be a new coach in place. The sentiment that QLD can play with and win is not enough at the moment. Still need some big bodies to take them on.

Even Smith will not help unless the forwards lay the ground work. It's a long road back mate. Their only chance is if they bring Cleary or Pearce back.

Yeah, I think the loss of Ofa and Arrow was a factor in game 2. I certainly hope your prediction for game 3 proves wrong as I'm not ready to concede a NSW win yet (maroon coloured glasses?) but we sure need a strong attitude adjustment from the forward pack and better leadership if we want to compete. As you say, there isn't an overabundance of names you can just drop in so some soul searching is required across the board.

Tigresses and Rabbits tonight
Enjoy
You blokes reckon Siebold will still be Broncos coach next year?

Is there anyone available not named Kevin Walters?

I think seibs will get another year. Hopefully Macca does not. We actually played patches of attractive uptempo footy when turps and seggy were playing together. I have a lot of respect for Andrew as a person and club man, but we play crap footy when he is on the field.

Yes.
It would be premature to let him go this early.
I hate using the term rebuilding but the facts are we need a clean out.

2015 covered up a few cracks since our last premiership in 2006. Before and after 2015 we seem to scrape into the finals and exit a little later.

I've mentioned a few points before which really concern me such as leadership, intensity and culture.
I hope I'm right in saying Seibold is on the right track but it's going to be a bumpy ride as a fan for a while.

He needs to make tough decisions on players like Boyd and Macca.
The issue is recruitment, Seibold and White need to sort this out ASAP, they can't rely upon young talented players alone, they need experienced match winners.

Our forwards have a lot of potential but we need quality halves, centres, wings and a fullback.

I hope I'm right about Seibold and he hasn't lost the dressing room with players not "buying" into his game plans.

This could go either way
Might depend on the way they finish the year
