Well if that is true its very surprising. It is hard to believe that the Warriors wouldnt have wanted him back for the same deal.

Speights wants to play more than 11 mpg. And he might since the Clippers just lost Cole Aldrich and Blake Griffin is injury prone.

So, it looks like it's going to be ZaZa, Varejao and the rookie at center.

Or maybe Kuzmic instead of Varejao. Younger and more talented at this point.

This is probably the reason why. I know some days he won't see any playing time. I am guessing that his main reason leaving.

Marreese Speights 980,431

ESPN reported it as a multi year deal too..

Gotcha, that makes more sense then. Surprised to see that "The Undefeated" found out something before Wojnarowski and "The Vertical."

What I don't get is Speights only getting the veterans' minimum when we're seeing all this money flying around in FA. He's one of the better shooting big men in the league and has actually expanded his range to now be able to hit 3's occasionally. I thought for sure he would command more.

Mo is limited in what he can do. There probably wasn't much demand for his services.

Same here. That's why I thought for sure he was goner simply because we couldn't afford him. Was surprised to here he was available for the minimum, even more surprised to hear he got it from the Clippers and not us.

I guess it's a pretty clear indicator the Dubs weren't all too interested in having him back. The addition of David West might have made him more expendable, since West brings the same pick and pop mid-range game to the table.

I also thought Festus would get more than 2/16 given what has been thrown out there. His finals performance hurt his deal. Really wish we could have kept him but there was simply no way.

We can only sign someone to a one year deal and at only the vet minimum.

Exactly what I was thinking about the Dubs' addition of West maybe making Speights more expendable. Now, I'd like a backup C that can protect the rim and also DLee as an active big man who can battle inside for rebounds but can also score inside to help that aspect of the team. Also, another G would be nice...if Ray Allen can still shoot it well and can still move somewhat without being too much of a D liability, I'd consider him. Or, Martin as others have mentioned as he's instant offense of the bench (ugly shot and all). What about Jarrett Jack - I wonder if he's recovering well from his knee injury? Probably wouldn't be open to playing for the veterans' min., though.

Yes. I think we all know that which is why it sucks if Mo signed the same deal.

I cannot believe the Blazers got Festus at that price in this crazy FA market. Now, I'm really hoping Damian Jones can prove to be a better all-around player than Festus as soon as he comes back from his injury. He just looks so much more athletic and fluid than Festus on both offense and defense.
