You're the man! I watch some of Simmons game and some of Ingrams during the tournament. I'm not saying they will be Hall of Famers, but I have to compare their games to players that are...

Simmons style reminds of Lebron James
Ingram style reminds me of Durants

Both have superstar potential. Simmons is slightly better imo.

I'd say that's a good assessment. They say Simmons doesn't have a natural jump shot and needs to develop that, but everything else is pretty well rounded. Ingram is a pure scorer and just needs to put on some weight for life in the NBA. They were talking to him earlier and he was saying how he's on a huge calorie diet and is already adding weight.

Ingram has a real nice upside and less potential to be a bust with that shooting!!! But if Simmons develop a shot, at 6'-10"...that dude could be the next face of the NBA!!!

The fact that he's a lifelong Lakers fan makes me really want him. I'd really be happy with either guy, though.
Ingram or bust, IMO. By bust I mean trade the damn thing.

P.S. SO happy we kept the pick. Today was unnecessarily stressful lol

Thats pretty spot on. I'd say ingram is closer to durant than simmons is to lebron.

If you go watch that UNC Duke game in Chapel Hill, you'll hop on the Ingram bandwagon real quick. Coach K for the last 5 minutes called nothing but ISO plays for ingram. Not like a pick and roll, not running an offense to set up Ingram on the block. Straight up give him the ball at the top of the key, 4 guys standing aroudn the 3 point line, and let him do his thing. He was hitting contested fade aways, using his length to get to the rim, dropping it off when double teams came, just took over. It was clear he was the best player on the floor. The thing that captured me the most was how calm he was in the moment, how non-chalant the whole situation was. Thats who I want...Thats an NBA player to me.

Simmons doesn't have LeBrons aggressiveness. I think he will turn out to be a better post player than LeBron, but that's about it. Shooting wise, he will be lucky to reach LeBrons potential, and that's not saying a lot. He's still gonna be a good / great player, unless the pressure of #1 really gets to him.

With Ingram, at best I see a "lesser" Durant. And that's not a knock, and I'd be happy with that. Spurs / GS are onto something with all this ball movement and getting the best shot avaiable. We don't need somebody to jack up 30 a game. If we can find a balance between Russel / Randle / Ingram, and with Clarkson coming off the bench, that's a good start.

If this is the team we are building around, a defensive center should be a must, and Whiteside should be towards the top of our list. Also getting a SG/SF that can play 30 min a game and give us a good defense should also be a priority. Batum, Barnes, Turner come to mind there.

Ya i mean, I think anyone is good with that. I actually think that Ingram is more polished inside than Durant was at his age. He is very good at post moves/using his length to get to the rim in a variety of ways. Don't think he is as athletic as KD.

I don't know much about Drummond...is whiteside the preferred option of the 2 avail?

Rather than going after Whiteside who likely will stay in Miami, I'm thinking a combination of Ezeli and Mozgov at the same price will get similar production and reduce risk of injury. It'll also give us some flexibility in matching up with other teams.

Barnes would be an interesting option. Lakers would likely have to overpay him and promise him a bigger role to get him away from GS.

We'll need a veteran backup PG as well.

Russell/Veteran PG
Clarkson/Lou/Young
Barnes/Ingram/Brown
Randle/Nance/Black
Ezeli/Mosgov
I like Ezili and Mozgov, but not as starters. We need a dominant defensive C, Drummond is restricted, but that shouldn't stop us from putting up an offer. Whiteside would be great, perfect scenario is Drummond.

You have to build this for the future as well. And if you put forward a starting lineup of Russell / Clarkson / Ingram / Randle, that team is easily giving up a 100+ points a night without an elite defensive C.
