my only thing with Westbrook is, how long is his body gonna allow him to keep up that style of play?

Rose was doing the same s**t, and his body completely broke down on him. what makes Westbrook an elite player is his ability to play 100mph at all times. once he loses that, especially when he ages, he won't be that good anymore.

he's gonna be 28 next season, i can see him playing with the same intensity until 31-32, but after that it will be interesting.

Yeah, that is a legit concern. He plays wreckless. I'm a big believer in D'angelo's ability. I think he can be a really good PG. Obviously, if Westbrook did come to LAL, that would hinder development.

One good news about the Lakers. I was reading Kawakamis tweet that one of the main reason KD left because of Westbrooks uncertainty next year to stay in OKC. Same reason why Horford didn't sign with OKC. I think you guys have a big chance to sign Weatbrook next year. He is an LA guy you guys got a great chance.

You beat me to it, makes sense, trade Russel for a real SG

But Russell is a PG and Westbrook would play the 2.

Stoney, local LA talk radio question if Russel ( 6"5) is a 2 instead of a PG, some comparisons to James harden with passing ability
I say we don't t trade anybody and let Westbrook walk to us next year

He's a PG IMO. Dude doesn't really play off ball. I guess Harden doesn't either, but Westbrook is a superior playmaker IMO. I don't see him as a 2 at any point in his career... also, that 6'5 is very generous lol

If he can't co exist and develop with a veteran star then we just have to get rid of him. We are in a development stage right now, but they better grow up quick and start showing up.

I agree. Not aggressive enough for my taste to be a 2.
lol @ nick young almost going jpp
Lets not focus on what position a guy not even on the Lakers plays..lets try and get back to our team next year.

Starters:
Russell
Clarkson
Deng
Randle
Mosgov

Bench:
?
Sweet Lou
Ingram
Nance
Black

Anthony Brown with significant production. Swaggy is gonna be gone. Sacre should be cut soon. We need to find a backup PG.

I think Russell and possibly Ingram have superstar potential. I think Randles ceiling can be higher than Draymond Greens. And I think Clarkson can be a really good 4th option on a good team. I love Larry Nance Jr. as a 6th man energy guy too. I'm optimistic about there future and I'm excited to see what Luke Walton brings to the table. For a while there I really didn't care for any of the coaches we were bringing in.

Just to shed some light on all these warriors fans coming in here thinking this is the most ridiuclous thing they've ever heard, I think you're forgetting Draymond wasn't exactly an all star his first couple years.

Draymond Soph year stats: 6 points, 5 rebs, 2 ast, 1 block. And he played a full freshman season. Also played 4 years in college.
Julius Soph year stats: 11 points, 10 rebs, 2 ast .5 blocks. And he played 1 game his fresh season. 1 year in college.
This is in Byron Scott's patented 1 pass and 1on1 offense. Should be a little different.
Ya draymond is light years ahead of JR right now, especially on defense...I personally think he is one of the most valuable guys in the league when considering his overall game, but Randle is real young, and he has a ton of room to grow. Don't think this is as ludicrous as our northern neighbors are making it out to be.

Eventually, I'd like to start Russell and Ingram together in the backcourt and have Clarkson as the 6th man.

Ingram is a SF, he's 6'9.

Yea, I rather have a really long SG, than a really underweight SF. Obviously, we got to see how he moves on the court and whether he can keep up with SGs, but I would like to avoid the beating he'd take against guys way stronger than him in the front court. To me, positions come down to who you can guard rather than what offensive position suits you.

With Russel being a 6'5" PG, and Ingram a 6'9" SG we would have one of the longest back courts in the NBA forcing other teams to adjust to us.

Honestly, he's going to struggle to defend a position until he gains weight. He's not athletic enough to guard SG's and not strong enough to guard SF's. He'll be able to guard certain less physical SF's or less athletic SG's but for the most part the Lakers will have to rely on team defense bailing him out. Durant has become a pretty good defender due to his length (even taller and longer than Ingram), but he also has 40 pounds on Ingram at this point in their careers and came into the league a lot heavier. I can't remember too many 6'9 players who weighed less than 200 (and with that length, you should be even heavier for your height).

Durant was way weaker than Ingram. Reports had KD having issues bench pressing 135lbs when he first joined the league. They are both athletic so they will get away with a lot at SF. Defensive mentality and aggressiveness is what im really looking for. Even though strength and power would be nice also this isn't like football where you would get murdered if you don't have it. Lol
Lakers traded chicago for Jose Calderon. We get Jose and 2 future 2nd round picks. They get the rights to an undetermined player (most likely a player drafted long ago). I guess they needed to clear cap for Wade. Good veteran PG that can shoot from 3 pt range. I like it. He also has a $7 million expiring contract next offseason.
