s**t like that is why i have a hard time respecting Lebron. He's adding drama to a season that doesn't need it. Yeah the team is going through a rough patch but keep it in house instead of calling everyone out through the media. It's so immature.
A lot of Superstars/alpha males have called out their teammates...it goes with the territory. Jordan and Kobe did it publicly...just yesterday Wade and Butler did it. CP3 has done it...Larry Bird called his teammates sissies to the reporters and he was playing with HOFers lol
I know but I'm like you said it's January. People are worn out cause it's the mid point of the season. Every team goes through these patches but to do this in January and call out his owner and GM is ridiculous. Gilbert has totally done everything he can to make Lebron happy and Lebron keeps pushing it. I know he's still sore about how things happened during his last run in Cleveland but Gilbert has spent so much to make that team great around Lebron and he doesn't seem to appreciate it at all.
Don't see how it's better to call your HOF teammates sissies during NBA finals. Plus, guys like Larry Bird, MJ, Kobe called out their teammates and FO regardless of time of the year. But, this is something Lebron said so it's going to get blown out by the media. Like I said - Wade and Butler just called out their teammates yesterday.
Anyway, for two seasons Gilbert did what he promised Lebron when he decided to come back to Cleveland. But, this season to save couple million bucks - they didn't waive Mo Williams (who they tried to force into retirement) and played the season without backup PG. Lebron wanted Cavs to sign couple of vets to minimum deals but Cavs decided to give contracts to McCrae and Felder (and Liggins) to save a few hundred thousand dollars.
Gilbert's team valuation doubled when Lebron signed with Cavs. He spent money because it was smart business move not because he all of a sudden transformed into a great owner. He's a cut-throat businessman and because Lebron signed a 3 year deal - he's once again trying to cut corners.
But I find it ironic that media and many NBA fans keeps disrespecting the Cavs FO and owners (and coaches) by calling Lebron the real owner and GM (and HC) but if he calls them out - it's horrible lol
Lebron could have kept it in house but he has used media to motivate his team before. Will it work - we will find out. But, no - ownership didn't do everything they could this season. They tried to save 4-5 million dollars which makes no sense whatsoever.
