Why are you obsessed with my opinion? It makes no sense. Just weird energy. But cont I guess - I'll just do a better job of ignoring it.
But in all seriousness, this bolded right here is my problem.
People like you have no problem calling him the GOAT, and then comparing him to other players that have no business in the GOAT conversation. You want to call him the GOAT, but you dont want to hold him to a much higher standard than these other players you compare him to.
To call someone the GOAT, and then apply the same standards to other guys is just ridiculous.

Julius Erving: "Well, he's gone past everybody for one thing. He comes in at 18 years old and he had the pro body and the pro ability as a high schooler. I really haven't seen anybody have that package. Moses, he was probably the closest and there was Bill Willoughby who it didn't work out for. And there were some other guys, like Kevin Garnett, but he's not LeBron and he's not Moses.
"So, LeBron is the Chosen One in that regard. He's gonna play into his 40s. He's gonna have, you know, a 22 or 23-year career. And nobody's done that in basketball either. Those last few years for Shaq and for Kobe, you know they were on the bench, they were on the sidelines. LeBron, it won't be the same for him. So he can still be that complete player... He's a total machine. He's gonna be the guy. Lebron's gonna be the guy who re-establishes the bar for what the GOAT is."

When I say other guys - I'm talking about mike, Kareem, and other greats not PG13 or someone of that caliber - who is a great player in his own right. Imo standards applied to Bron were never applied to previous legends and I do think he's the most scrutinized athlete.
Now, I understand some of that came after he became political in Miami - and some of it came bc he empowered the players instead ownership having power over the players. For a lot of ppl - they can't handle players dictating terms to the owners.
I also think media wasn't tough enough on him till 2009 but turned on him quick after the whole decision thing. I also think NBA media in general today is pretty pathetic and are always putting down todays stars - like they've done with Jokic and Nuggets recently.

There is that "killer" aspect we were talking about earlier. Sounds like GP is implying Lebron may surpass MJ if he turns into the same type of killer and that he believes he is getting there. But after 30 yrs of playing full-time and almost 40 yrs old is it too late?

Fair enough. I see plenty of people comparing Lebron's standards to the likes of Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, and similar players that said people would have an aneurysm if they heard people say they were on the same level as Lebron. So fair enough. I thought you meant other guys in general.

I personally would put Durant up against those standards earlier in his career bc imo he was a top 5 player in the league by year 3 and had full potential to be in GOAT conversation.
Curry is already a top 10 player of all time but he entered this conversation much later in his career than from the get go. He is def the greatest offensive weapon of all time. We will see where he ends up - I think he has a lot left in the tank.
But them 3 have been top 3 players of the last decade. Idk what standard to apply to them but imo if they played in any decade in the NBA history - they'd be the best 3 players in the league.

2nd all time in playoffs defensive win shares. In-between Bill and Timmy - who are seen as the 2 of the greatest defenders of all time.

If the players on the list were available to draft he'd be in line for 8th-9th. Still have no idea how he's your goat but go stats I suppose.

According to definition that list states he's almost twice as valuable as Olajuwon n Shaq in helping stop an opposing team from scoring. That's not delusional at all.

Defensive metrics are notoriously shoddy. Sometimes they are good and sometimes they really suck . If you notice the lack of guards on there . One of the stats they use is rebounds and rebound % . Hence , the lack of guards .
