Still not sold on them being a lockdown defensive team when they have to win a tight game.

Lol at least MJ can do things like hit free throws when it matters. Never seen a great player shank so many free throws in crunch time.

I watched Shaq clank FTs his entire career
4ML.....question for you.....

In your opinion, what are the defining moments of LeBron's career to this point?

The morning show on 95.7 was talking about this yesterday when they were comparing LBJ to Jordan. I will preface this by saying, I dont think comparing the two is far with Bron still having a chunk of his career left, but the argument was that Jordan had many career defining moments, and Bron really hasnt had much yet. So I was curious as a real LBJ fan, what do you think his career defining moments are.

Not a LeBron fan, but last year's Game 7 block is a pretty career-defining moment. Maybe Game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals when he helped bring them back within reach in the 4th quarter.

He'll probably have more. But for the sake of my sanity, hopefully not in this year's Finals.

You're not talking to me but me personally I think the following:

- performance vs DET where he just completely took over in DET and then closed them out in CLE the next game to go to the Finals

- his 45 point game IN Boston down 3-2 to even the series in the 2012 ECF (ultimately advanced to get his first ring)

- all around assault on OKC to win his 1st ring

- his 4th QTR performance vs SA in game 6 in 2013 that put Allen in position to attempt and hit a game winner. 16 or 19 points being down double digits

- his complete performance in game 7 with the game sealing jumper over Leonard to go back to back

- his entire series in 2015 NBA Finals. Those numbers vs that team were absurd

- back to back 40 point games in game 5 and 6 last year and then a triple double in game 7 to be the first player to ever lead both teams in every category

- block on Iggy in game 7

- beating a 73 win team, coming from down 3-1 and getting CLE their first title

Off the top of my head

Appreciate the response, but I should have elaborated.

The conversation was about singular plays or moments. So over half of this list would not qualify. Sorry for not being clear.
i can't really remember a wow moment like Jordans moments. For some reason all i can picture when thinking about LBJ is flopping and playing RB on the way to the hoop

When I think of "career defining" I think of games in the playoffs. Big games. Jordan's flu game for example. Or Bron's Boston playoff performance. Hard to narrow basketball down to single plays unless they are game winning buzzer beaters....

For sure. Games like Bron's game 6 against Boston or Jordan's flu game can be career defining moments....I can get behind that.

But some of the things on Sims list I cannot get behind as "moments." (i.e. "all around assault on OKC to win his 1st ring"....because that is NOT a moment....or "his 4th QTR performance vs SA in game 6 in 2013 that put Allen in position to attempt and hit a game winner. 16 or 19 points being down double digits" because NO ONE remembers any of that. People only remember Ray Allen's shot, because THAT was the moment of that series)

People who don't care for LeBron only remember Ray Allen's shot. LeBron was absolutely dominant in that 4th QTR to single handily bring them back down by double digits to start.

Similar to when I think about the Warriors current run all I can picture is offensive lineman blocking defenders to get Curry/Thompson open. Also I picture Draymond Green kicking a bunch of people.
Game sealer vs SA in 2013 game 7 and the game 7 block on Iguodala are a few. I think the game 6 block on Curry and the staredown was another. Earlier in his career the game winner vs Orlando. Barrage of jumpers @ Detroit. Game 6 @ Boston the put back dunk in the 1st quarter.

From the top of my head...

Career defining plays -

1. Obviously the block on Iggy in Game 7.
2. Block (and trash talk) on Curry in Game 6.
3. Jumper in game 7 against Spurs that put the game away.
4. Dunk over Jason Terry in the Garden.
5. Game winner against Orlando

Career defining performances:

1. Game 6 in Boston. For me - greatest game Lebron ever played given the circumstances
2. Game at Detroit
3. 41-41-triple double - greatest finals performance ever

That's pretty good list.
