Let's be real though they have not had a tough schedule. They struggled in the opener vs a banged up Clemson team. The D today looks awful. D-Line is slow with no pressure. This Bama OL is not that good as years past.

but but but they play in the sec!

You do know that they lost to an SEC team, right?

1. Bama
2. Michigan (if they win)
3. Georgia
4. Cincy

5. ND
6. Baylor?

I'd put Baylor over ND but I agree with the rest

Dude RG3 is fkn brutal as a play by play guy. He's like a 16 yr old boy on his prom night. All over the place
Superstar Bama receiver Metchie goes down with torn ACL. Surefire first round draft pick. Tough luck, here's hoping he makes it all the way back and has a great pro career.

Hate to disagree with the experts, but bearing in mind Georgia's defeat was by top 3 ranked Alabama, Michigan State who beat Michigan were ranked around #10. Logically therefore, perhaps Georgia should be at 2 and Michigan at 3? As they will play each other, it is not as fundamental as the difference between 4 and 5.

I think you are over promoting Baylor. They still have 2 defeats.

Sad and how it happened too was nothing much.

We talking Notre Dame though … shouldn't even be in that mention so Baylor is the only other logical choice. Right?

Looks like he will be a niner then
I think Michigan should be #1. Bama just struggled way too much this year. They may beat UM head to head but they didn't have a better season.

I prefer them doing Bama v Georgia in the semis too but it's not going to happen. Bama, UM, Georgia, Cincy is likely how it goes down.

Baylor won their conference--don't think of it as an actual belief that they are better than ND on a neutral field; instead think of it as saying, Baylor, you did all that you could do to secure a spot, you won your conference. Your conciliation prize is not a trip to the Playoff, but instead a better bowl. And besides, ND was idle and this has been part of the independent curse for them as far as I can remember One day, maybe, they will actually fully join a conference. But ND simply makes too much money as an independent to believe they even want to do it. Nonetheless, ND does this to themselves, they have no title game to play in demonstrate their case further. Thus, they fall in the rankings.

As for Georgia falling to three, they lost badly, but not awfully in the SEC title game, Michigan won their game handily. Plus, you just had Alabama and Georgia. If Alabama is number one overall then they get to face the "lesser" opponent in Cincy, while #2 gets "rewarded" and faces Georgia. It is likely to be an SEC rematch, but I would not sleep on Michigan getting to the title game against Bama.
