This. Unless I missed where IND had the Cavs on the ropes and PG failed to close them out shooting 10-31 on his home floor, completely nutting up with an NBA Finals within reach...

I don't know about 1 more year or relevance. Lebron just had one of his best year and Kyrie's best is ahead of him. It will take these guys at least 3-4 years to play upto their potential.

I think ppl buy into potential way too much.

We shall see if Lebron sticks after next season. We know he will be there in 17-18 and that the Cavs will contend. After that? Who knows. If he leaves the Cavs are no longer very relevant and the power will have shifted.

Yea...if Lebron leaves - I agree.

I think Griffin's firing may eventually lead to that. It was no guarantee that Lebron was gonna re- sign (though I believe the reports were out there because Lebron wanted to keep pressure on Gilbert to keep spending) but firing Griffin was a really poor move.

Dude is gonna be a GM. Good move for him.
Rumor is Butler is pushing Bulls to trade him to Cavs.

Plz make this happen.

Rather have Butler than PG.

Lebron is not coming out West, the competition is harder in the Western Conference, He's gonna look for a team in the East or just stay put in Cleveland

Out of curiosity and outside for having more years on the contract, why? I think they are both elite two way players but PG is the better creator, spot up shooter and you can run the offense through him as he is a threat to score from anywhere whereas Butler is not much of a threat from deep...

Butler is a better defender...he's more of a grinder and his outside shot is good enough. Butler is known for being one of the hardest working players in the NBA - I think he's gonna get better as well. Plus, PG likely gonna leave next season...so that makes a big difference.

...and Butler is pretty good created as well.
So KD is re-signing with Golden State? So basically the 2018 season is over, Golden State wins back-to-back over Cavs.

Yes...it's over.

I don't think he has been 1st Team All defense yet. Paul George was prior to his injury and then came back the very next year and landed on the 2nd team All defense along with Jimmy. I'm not saying Butler is or isn't a better defender, but he has yet to accomplish what PG has and they were both on the 2nd team last year. I admire his work ethic though. Butler definitely has that grinding mentality but aside from more years on his contract, I don't think he fits better than PG.
