Clippers want to trade Jordan for the Suns 4th Pick and Tyson Chandler.

I think the Clippers could drastically get much worse this year.

Id take that deal in a heartbeat. Jordan puts up great stats, but he aint a winner, I think its smart to move on. Not the personality, or the game in today's NBA. You should see how often he goes out on the westside. partypartypartyparty

What is this bunch of young pieces that you are speaking of? Also two very late 1st rounders hold little value, they arent sending lottery picks.

Lol Pacers aren't trading for late 1st round picks for George.

The value is taking 2 picks and moving up. That gives them ammo, and Randle or Clarkson would start on that team. Thats going to be better than anything else anyone offers IMO. This is all taking into account the entire NBA knows he wants out, and he could be a 1 year rental. That drives prices way down.

But a turner and randle tandom at the 4 and 5 would be very interesting.

Everyone knew Carmelo, Love, Howard wanted out and they weren't traded for small stuff

2 late 1st round picks + Randle is about as good as it gets for Indy at this point. They f**ked up by not taking Boston's offer at the trade deadline and now they have markedly less leverage with it known that George indeed wants out.

Yeah but the Suns wouldnt. Its known that Phoenix would be open to move the #4 so you keep seeing them linked to these potato trade scenarios.

I know. I was more referring the clippers and Deandre side of it. They should try and move on asap.

It was reported here yesterday that they had offered DJ to about a dozen teams. They are definitely trying, meanwhile he wants to stay so he can cash in on the super max.
Chad Ford @chadfordinsider

Celtics finally received Josh Jackson's medicals, but he still won't workout for Boston. C's still debating but appear to be leaning Tatum

They weren't a threat anyways and it was time for that team of underachievers to be blown up

Lopez is expiring contract. So, they don't HAVE to do something there.

Yeah they do, you need to read the reports from LA beat writers. If they trade Clarkson, let Randle walk(FA due a big raise in 2018), renounce Lopez and use the stretch provision on Deng they will have room to add two max
FA's.

They can't do that if they keep any one of those guys.(Clarkson, Randle and Lopez)

Also once again, nobody is trading for Deng, not at his salary and current performance level, not for late 1st round picks with Hinkie no longer an NBA GM. The Lakers are stuck with him for the foreseeable future.

I mean if they are willing to give up Ingram some team would take both off their hands but otherwise two very late 1st rounders isn't moving the dial and those have seemingly been allocated to a Paul George trade anyways.

It was reported by Marc Stein that the Lakers offered both 1st rounders plus Clarkson for PG already.

Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine

Can the Lakers now land Paul George by offering Thursday's No. 27 and 28 picks and either Julius Randle or Jordan Clarkson? They're trying
.

Renouncing Lopez means next year when Lopez becomes FA - he'll have a cap hold of 150% of what he makes this season. All Lakers have to tell him is - we are not re-signing you and we renounce you. They don't have to do anything else. He's an exipiring contract.

...and I don't see much difference in Mozgov and Deng's contract or performance. Someone will take Deng if you attach picks. And a lot of things get "reported" during this time. It'll be stupid of Lakers to let go of Randle imho...especially for PG who will sign with them anyway.

I have a question. Just making sure I am not missing something. The Lakers trade Russell which makes it seem like drafting Ball is a lock. But then I hear that they were looking to trade out of the 2nd spot for the Kings 5th and 10th ... hence, not guaranteeing Ball would still be there. Was the proposed Kings trade prior to the actual trade with the Nets? Or is it possible the Lakers figured Ball might still be there at 5, and if not Fox would be?

Just wondering about the timing of these moves (proposed and actual). If the offer to the Kings was after they traded Russell, it seems like they don't value Ball enough to ensure they get him. What is the thought on this?

I think the Lakers know that either Ball or Fox would be there at #5. I personally think Fox will be the better player anyway but that remains to be seen. If the Lakers could get 2 top talents on rookie deals and add them to George, Ingram, and 2 Max Players in the off season they would be well on their way to being an NBA contender again.

This but they have to make room for George + 2 max deals by trading Deng. You can't trade Deng without giving up some picks. Maybe you attach Randle to that too but if you blow your picks and Randle on PG - you're stuck with Deng. Lakers should stay patient. No need to trade for George anymore IMO.

It took the Lakers trading Russell for someone to take Mozgov's contract. A guy who was the #2 pick in the draft 2 years ago. Do you believe that they didnt first try to pawn off Clarkson or Randle on the Nets before giving up one of their most valuable trade chips in Russell?

Like I said, if the Lakers want to throw in Ingram, someone will take Deng off their hands, no doubt.

But for two late 1st rounders? Not a chance in hell, especially since those picks are currently being offered to Indy for PG. Deng is just a contract that the Lakers will have to eat for a couple years.
