D Wade turned down 24 million for one year of basketball at this point in his career. Wow

It is a potentially scary team if they could put aside the egos and accept their roles on LeBron James' team...
Starting line up: Kyrie, Wade, George, Lebron, Thompson.
Rotation off the bench: Deron Williams, JR Smith, Melo, Jefferson and whoever their backup center is these days.
That would be a real threat to the Warriors because having the ability to swap in Melo when Lebron or George heads to the bench would be an excellent option, and likewise having the ability to use Wade or Smith as the starting SG with the other coming off the bench would be an excellent option. So if the Cavs managed to pull this off it could potentially give them what they need to get past the Warriors big four.
With that said, I'm not sure that Melo and Wade to the Cavs would be slam dunks. Would Melo accept a bench role after spending his entire career as a key starter? I'm not convinced he would. Likewise, Wade has spent his entire career being a main player or second option on a team, would he be happy accepting being the fourth option in order to chase another ring? Again, I'm not convince he would. I think Wade and Melo would both want to remain starters and continue to have prominent roles on their teams. I suspect they would look to other teams before the Cavs unless they decide to accept lesser roles in order to win a ring and best the Warriors. I guess it's possible they might accept less to create a super team to take down the Warriors' super team, but it's a big ask for players with egos like Melo and Wade.

Wade and Melo are too old to make a significant difference.
PG would be a great pickup for them though.
Not strictly true. I would still rather have Dwyane Wade in a starting line up than JR Smith. Compare their production last season:
- Wade averaged 18.3 pts, 3.8 assists, .434 FG% and .310 3P%
- Smith averaged 8.6 pts, 1.5 assists, .346 FG% and .351 3P%
Now I appreciate the Wade has never been a big time 3 point shooter whereas JR Smith has made a career on being able to shoot 3 pointers, but last year he was pretty inconsistent and in some ways they might be better sending JR Smith to the bench in a sixth man role and adding Wade into the starting line up. At this stage in his career Wade still has enough left in the tank to help the Cavaliers get better. Or he comes off the bench if they prefer Smith in the starting line up for whatever reason.
As for Melo, he wouldn't start for them if they have Paul George and LeBron James, but he would be their sixth man. His entire career he's averaged over 20 points a game and has been a pretty solid shooter for the most part. The guy can score and if they use him as an offensive punch off the bench then they will arguably have the best bench player in the league if Melo would accept that role. Imagine the prospect of Melo coming off the bench when LeBron or George sits, it would be a scary prospect for opposition teams because when one scorer leaves another heads onto the court with the instruction to score. With that said, I think when Melo leaves the Knicks he might want to continue to be a starter rather than a role player, but I guess he might decide to head to the Cavs and have a chance at a ring and take it easy.

I don't think Cavs are getting PG.
I think Wade is a possibility for a buyout...I don't think Knicks will do a buy out for Melo.
I suppose the Bulls will try and trade the likes of Rondo and Wade before considering buying them out. They are heading into a rebuild and if they can get anything in return for them - draft picks or young talent - then that could be beneficial for them and a reason for them to try and trade them. I don't see anyone being willing to take on Wade's contract, but there might be some in Rondo.
As for Melo, I don't see a buy out either unless Melo is unwilling to waive his no trade clause. At that point if they give him his money then he go and sign wherever he wants, whereas he might not get the same choice in a trade because some teams will be unwilling to give anything up for him. I personally think a trade is more likely than a buyout, but at the same time I don't see many teams lining up for him.

At this point in his career he shouldn't need the money if he's unhappy where he's at.

I thought Wade has said he stills plans to opt into his contract despite Butler being traded?

So Lebroni James trying to recruit help illegally again. Just go head and let the Cavs give future free agents an offer sheet and get it over with! Lol

Lebron isn't the "actual" GM.... pretty sure players can recruit

They shouldn't even give out the award this year. No one earned it.
