Good trade for the Rockets. Imo I think Chris Paul is a better fit with the Spurs.

Paul would have signed there anyway, so this actually helps the Clippers get a little something back. Also, it clears some cap for Paul, and his Bird rights go with him (I'm sure this was the main reason he wanted this trade as he will be eligible for the 5 year, $205mm contract in 2018 still).

His coaches were Vinny and Doc Rivers in LA. Neither asked him pushed pace.
Its not a great fit with Harden. Both a ball dominate players.

Having two ball dominant players surrounded with shooters is a great fit...plus both are highly intelligent players - they'll figure it out for sure. It's a great fit. Houston sucked when Harden couldn't get going on some nights - now he'll have more space - because CP3 is a better shooter than Beverley and an equally great player who can run a offense even better than him.
This is huge win for Rockets.

Yup as I mentioned earlier I don't get why he didn't just go to the Spurs? I'm pretty sure the Spurs woulda trade Lamarcus. Besides the Warriors Spurs is one of the unselfish team, best two way player in the game and a hall of fame coach? Kawhi is the most low key superstar and not ball dominant unlike Harden also terrible in defense.

mike d'antoni still coaches this team, dubs will put up 130 plus and with the spurs they'll probably go 7, not worriedplus losing Beverly and Williams weakens their bench

This. Only question with the Rockets is how their defense will/should improve.
But I still think he would have been better with the Spurs, as others have alluded.

Totally disagree that this is a great fit and frankly I am really puzzled as to why the Rockets did this.
They just had one of their better seasons in recent history with Harden as their primary ballhandler. Now they are going to go completely away from what made them great last season? Yeah this doesnt make sense at all.
Hypothetically...wouldnt it have made much more sense to bring in a Gordon Hayward and keep the players they moved for Paul? Isnt Hayward, Beverley, Lou and Dekker better than Chris Paul?
Paul should have gone to San Antonio. Would have made much more sense.

You think Houston's defense will improve after this trade? I'd imagine that moving Beverly for Paul doesn't move the needle up defensively with both being top defensive talents at the guard position. It does improve them offensively with the their starting lineup but weakens the bench with the departure of Williams and Dekker, even with Gordon still being around. I always felt one advantage Houston had over most teams was the firepower they could hit you with every night off the bench, not sure that will be the case anymore.
Also, we shall see if CP3 can stay healthy this coming season as well.

LOL
That was the point. With the trade, how does/should Houston's defense improve? They actually lost one decent defender with Beverly so how do they gain something back in return?
