This. Only question with the Rockets is how their defense will/should improve.
But I still think he would have been better with the Spurs, as others have alluded.
You think Houston's defense will improve after this trade? I'd imagine that moving Beverly for Paul doesn't move the needle up defensively with both being top defensive talents at the guard position. It does improve them offensively with the their starting lineup but weakens the bench with the departure of Williams and Dekker, even with Gordon still being around. I always felt one advantage Houston had over most teams was the firepower they could hit you with every night off the bench, not sure that will be the case anymore.
Also, we shall see if CP3 can stay healthy this coming season as well.
LOL
That was the point. With the trade, how does/should Houston's defense improve? They actually lost one decent defender with Beverly so how do they gain something back in return?
Ahhh I see, i misinterpreted your post, sorry bout that.
Aside from the defense, it will also be interesting to see how two guys who thrive with the ball constantly in their hands will co-exist. If CP3 handles a large amount of the ball handling, I think it is safe to say Harden will find it much more difficult to draw fouls and get to the line. Should be interesting.
