If you don't have a no trade clause there is always a price.

Sure, if GS wants to trade Durant to the Suns for JJ, I'm sure they'd find a way to work that out, especially with JJ being a Cali guy and wanting to stay close to his family. But what the most reliable Suns beat guys are saying is that Phoenix flat out told Cleveland that both Devin Booker and Josh Jackson are off the table.

The Suns GM and owner sat down with JJ and his agent a week ago to let him know he wouldnt be traded. He refused to workout for Boston because he was promised that Phoenix would take him and he wanted to be here.

Cavs management and Blatt got on tv and told the world that Wiggins won't be traded. They told Wiggins that they'll never trade him.

But, I want Kyrie to go to Denver and Cavs to get Murray and Gary Harris. Cmon Nuggets!!
Report: Kyrie Irving not ready to commit to any team that trades for him

So uh, that Bledsoe/Warren deal starting to look kinda good now.

huh? What does one thing have to do with another. 2 years left on his deal...why would he commit to any team?

Sure , but we all know he isn't "untouchable"

It just adds to the uncertainty, it certainly doesn't help Cleveland any, particularly if we are talking about teams that weren't on the list he wanted to be traded to.

4ML is right though. It would make no sense at all for Kyrie to commit to any organization when he knows he can get a max deal offer from half the league when he becomes a FA. I'm sure any team that trades for Kyrie would understand this given there are 2 deals left on his contract.
Kyrie Irving is asking to be traded after 2 years into his 5 year deal and you want a commitment from him and make decisions based on that?

IMO every single team in the NBA believes that they can convince a star to stay with 2 years left.

If that had any truth to it the offers Cleveland is getting would be a lot better. Outside of San Antonio and a couple of others, I think most are looking at it as a 2 year rental.

Rebuilding teams like Phoenix aren't going to give up the farm for a guy who more likely than not will bounce on them in 2 years.

John Gambadoro @Gambo987
I don't blame Kyrie for not wanting to commit to any team that trades for him but that should rule out rebuilding teams! Too risky.

I doubt Wiggins will ever go back to Cleveland after that trade. I see him acting up if they did and it would be funny!!!

Has Bledsoe committed to the Suns?!? Do we know what offers Cavs are getting? And it's early in the process.

...and how many stars (and Kyrie has superstar potential) have been on the trade block with 3 or more years left on the contract?

...and Bledsoe, Josh Jackson, and Miami's 1st rounder (Miami is set to make playoffs this season) isn't trading away a farm.

Now, I understand Suns may be reluctant to trade JJ and that's fine. They have to do what's best for them. But, Kyrie has 2 years left on the deal and it's stupid to expect him to commit to anyone. No one does that.

It isn't trading away the farm, but it's trading away too much. KI isn't that much of a better overall player than Bledsoe when taking into account Bledsoe's defensive capabilities, and he's no slouch as a scorer either, but much more than that Irving is a bad fit for the Suns. They don't need another terrible defensive player in the back court.

I beg to differ on Kyrie isn't that much of a better overall player even when you account for defense. Kyrie is one of the best 1-on-1 player in the league and that means he can break down defenses on his own. There are very few players in the league who can do that...and that ability supersedes anything Bledsoe can do and this is coming from someone who really likes Bledsoe. Plus, Kyrie has the best handles in the game (or at worst, 2nd worst - don't want to upset Warriors fans on the board) and he's the best finisher under the rim. He just turned 25 in March...and will now be entering his prime. Kyrie has Curry type potential. Bledsoe will be 28 in December and he is what he is right now.

Now, I don't have any problem with you or Phoenix feeling that giving up JJ and Bledsoe is too much for Kyrie. I disagree...but I can understand and respect that opinion. There is a risk of Kyrie leaving...but there is always a risk. There is a risk that JJ will not reach his potential.

You guys bring up a good point that Kyrie isn't going to make them a playoff team...and I think you guys are right about that. That's a fair point but I think to attract other stars you need stars on the roster too. It's a tough decision - it's not easy. But, I think Kyrie will be a top 10 player in the league...and those guys are hard to get a meeting with in FA...let alone available for trade.

No you wouldnt. In fact, if you were smart you wouldnt give up any of the Big 4 of the Warriors for him.

I will say this though. There is no way that Bledsoe is close to Kyrie as a player.
