I'm not sure I do either outside of Vince being upset that he took such a financial loss with the season ending early on top of not having a true Wrestlemania. Both of those had to be huge financial loses for him that were unexpected. He knew they were gonna take a huge loss for the first season, but from the interviews I've heard from Oliver Luck, they had a 3 year plan and if things weren't going well by then things would be re-evaluated. However, I don't think that was gonna be the case the popularity seemed to be growing so I'm shocked by this.Originally posted by Hysterikal:Originally posted by JustinMT:NEWS: on a call today with COO Jeffery Pollock, XFL employees were just informed that the league is suspending operations and all employees have been laid off. Another sport impacted further by the current COVID-19 crisis.

I do t get it. The attendance for most the games were better than most baseball, hockey and Charger games.

It was actually very entertaining and was doing pretty well. Being a start up there was no way it could survive the virus. This wasn't the usual football league failing because it sucks.

Yeah seems pretty clear to me Vince pulled the plug because the virus ruined his financial plan for it. WWE is his #1 priority, and it's taking a big hit right now, so it wouldn't surprise me if he pulled the XFL funds to pour into the WWE.

This. The league didn't fail. It was thriving. The virus killed it.

Not surprising. The big leagues may not even play this season in front of an audience. XFL can't afford that and likely don't want to be the guenia pig either.

BREAKING: XFL files for bankruptcy. N bankruptcy filing reveals that WWE actually does own part of league (23.5% of Class B stock). Among the creditors — Bob Stoops ($1M), Marc Trestman ($777K), Ticketmaster ($655K), other coaches ($583K) and MetLife Stadium lease ($368K). pic.twitter.com/PRj3CXAnkv
