Harden is the MVP and was the best offensive player in the NBA this year by a lot. No one will stop him, not even Durant. Please delete your account.

Agreed that there is no one player who can consistently defend James Harden. Along with KD and Westbrook he may be the toughest person in the league to guard. There is a reason that elusive guards love it when bigs come out to guard them. Its because they can simply go right around them.

His handles are insane. Guys is an offensive Juggernaut. We know he can shoot, and get open when he wants, but the underrated attribute of his is being creative around the rim job

I never said anyone would stop him. Delete your account on behalf of everyone that can appreciate nuance and proper reading comprehension.

Harden is wayyy tougher to guard than Westbrook because Westbrook's jumper is inconsistent as hell. Westbrook doesn't really do anything too subtle with his handle, and you just have to watch out for explosive movements. KD is great but he often settles for tough shots. Harden is incredibly patient and waits for the right angle/space/defense around the rim..guy is high iq as hell.

Like I said, no one player can consistently defend James Harden. Certainly not Kevin Durant thats for sure. Yes, lets put the guy we need more than anyone on the offensive end in a position where he can pick up fouls as he scrambles to stop Harden driving to the hoop. That sounds like good strategy.

What the Warriors will do is rotate Klay, Iggy, and maybe Draymond on Harden. KD will likely get him some on switches but I seriously doubt they will have him guarding Harden very often.

Westbrook's three pointer is inconsistent. He is a really good mid range guy. His pull up mid range is one of better ones in the league.

KD can make a lot of those "traditionally tough" shots. They aren't tough for him due to the freakish length, athleticism, and shooting ability.
The Warriors can throw Thompson, Green, Durant and Iggy at Harden. All 4 have LENGTH. The Rockets have a much better supporting cast and Capela has progressed. Will CP3 go into his playoff funk? Curry's health could be the deciding factor. This is the marquee matchup. The team I'm watching are the 76ers, have they fully grown up?

If they stick with those three on Harden, they will lose....Just my opinion. They need someone longerto combat the stepback. They've been able to handle Harden in the past because Klay could be physical with him and force him into long stepbacks...this year Harden is making those stepbacks look easy, and he'll destroy Klay. Not to mention, Klay has been pretty bad (by his standards) at stopping penetration. Iggy, in his current state, will get mutilated by Harden, that would be a last resort. Draymond might have a chance with his length, but he's been inconsistent defensively this year as well.

Definitely the best approach would be to mix things up, but in crunch time I don't want Iggy or Green near him. If they do what they've been doing and leave Klay on him for the whole game, they'll lose.

KD is great but you can dictate him with physicality. Look at how Iggy defended him in our series in 2016. If you can be physical with him, he'll settle for some really bad shots.

Westbrook has a pretty good midrange but his shot selection is terrible...when it comes to taking bad shots, he's the master. He also has tunnel vision like a mfer. He's emotional and can let them get the best of him very easily. You can also throw help at him and he'll find an open man sometimes but he'll also do some stupid crap that you would never think of.

Neither of these guys compare to Harden imo. Not only does Harden dominate the person guarding him, but he owns you if you try to bring help because his feel and vision are so advanced. He's taken iso play to a new level.

Good analysis, I think a major factor will be that Harden won't be worn down as in past playoffs. The entire Houston starting 5 must be defended. In the end it may come down to can Mike D'Antoni's system win an NBA tittle.

I agree with this take. Good stuff. I thought you didn't know s**t about hoops, but you redeemed yourself
