Guys on the radio during lunch were discussing this as the most boring finals ever and I'm inclined to agree. Well recent memory at least, maybe not ever.

With the exception of game 1 theatrics, kinda anticlimactic for sure. HOU/GS was real finals.

Winners win.

You've been blinded by statistics.

Use your head.

LeBron is not a winner.

LeBron has 6 NBA Finals losses.

Jordan won 6 NBA Finals series, WITHOUT A SINGLE LOSS IN THE NBA FINALS.

Stop wasting your life defending a career loser.

Jordan is THE GOAT, deal with it

This is something I just don't get. Jordan doesn't have a Finals loss because 9 times in 15 seasons he lost BEFORE the Finals.

This isn't to weigh in on the bigger topic of GOAT. It's just to say that LeBron losses in the Finals aren't a negative in the way it is used in this instance. One guy failing to get the Finals isn't better than another guy getting there but losing in the Finals.

Great point

MJ won 6 titles in 8 seasons while sitting out for a year in a half. That's his prime. Lebron's prime is 8 straight Finals with a 3-5 record. The undefeated in the Finals thing is overrated, if GS wins the next 4 and wins 7 out 8 they're not worse because they lost in the Finals once. But with LBJ it doesn't apply because he's just not winning that much.

It doesn't matter how people try to spin this LeBron has fallen short a sh load more than MJ. There's no argument you can make that ends with LeBron being the bigger winner right now. He's played 15 years already too and only has 3 rings. So if you want to say MJ lost 9 in 15 you still have to acknowledge that's double Lebron's success.

I just read this elsewhere and it made me chuckle. JR Smith just spotted in Oakland and is getting ready for game 5

I say this all the time, people act like it'd be better if he lost in the ECF or even first round rather than making it to the finals. So dumb
Take goat talk to the goat thread please.
Plot twist

Lebron broke his hand on a meaningless block in game one because he didn't want curry to score

Cavs gave up early. Game 1 ruined them. I like Lebron, but he ruined the team with his demeanor after JRs blunder.

Ya, that's one thing I can't defend him on. He needed to show better leadership there. Either rally the team after that, or keep that attitude, but at least come out with some fire in OT. I think the 2nd option wasn't gonna work, dude was just gassed. But he should've gotten his teammates and JR ready for OT. Though it's tough, they are human.

I remember in the Suns vs Lakers series when the Lakers were up 3-1, and the game that tied the series up (that the Suns won by like 5 points), Kobe went off for 50 and shot really well, but he was getting blamed by the media for that loss because he took too many shots and didn't get Smush Parker, Kwame Brown, and Luke Walton involved more (lol). Game 7, Kobe acted like a diva and was most just passing the ball, and basically saying "This is what happens when I pass to these bums". Lakers lost game 7 by 30 points.

If Jordan doesn't go to baseball for a season & half. Bulls win it in 94 & 95, they probably win in 99 too if not for Jerry Krause gutting the roster, a move the Bulls still haven't recovered from, could've easily won 9 titles that decade

MJ would have had 10 straight Finals playing in the bum Eastern Conference of today. LBJ loaded up two different superteams in the weak East and then cakewalker to Finals. This year was different but the whole East sucked again so he got to play a Celtics team missing its two best players and being led by a rookie.

Seriously doubt all that. Title fatigue and getting content is a very real thing. Teams do get burned out.

Plus Pippen got the chance to showcase himself when Jordan left. He knew he wasn't enough to carry a team to a title because of those years. If that didn't happen would Pippen have been fine staying in his shadow forever? Highly doubtful. He would have pulled a Kyrie eventually.
