Really tough to win a World Cup tourney.

You have to really want it. Your team has to have the same mentality .
It really helps if the chips fall in your favor.
You have to dig deep especially after you just played a full season.

That being said may the best team win. GREAT F'N CUP

I would watch more soccer but the Euro times are a deal breaker.

England choked. No doubt about it.

I think Southgate should have started Rashford. Raheem Sterling wasted so many opportunities.

His speed created problems early but England quit using him that way. Eventually Southgate replaced him but there was a long time when he just disappeared. He's a young guy who, like a lot of this team, will be much better in four years.

You'd know what I mean if you watched EPL. But I know you don't watch it so it's hard to explain. Long story short - they're mostly overrated but their fans think they've the toughest league in the World.

...and what weak tie breaking system are you talking about? They've won every game. They didn't need a tiebreak to advance to knockouts.

And, Croatia has at least beaten good teams in group stages. England is yet to beat one. Winning against Columbia without James Rodrigues isn't very impressive either.

Hoping Modric, Rakitic, Perisic and Manzukic are fully rested.

Looks like they did get enough rest. These are 4 world class players and should not be taken lightly.

Most complete midfielders duo of Modric and Rakitic is so much fun to watch.

Games are won in the midfield and Croatia was the best there all game long. England tried to nullify Modric by focusing two or three guys on him but that eventually opened up other options on the outside right especially.

Yup. Modric is probably the best mid-fielder in the game and it hurts me to say that because I hate Real Madrid. But, imo he is the best in the game today. I think Rakitic is top 5 and compliments Modric perfectly.

On paper, France is better and their midfield is pretty damn good too. But, Croatia should give a good fight. Again, concern is - do they have the legs and team speed of the French is on another level than the Brits. Croats gotta dominate the midfield again and it won't be so easy as it was against the overrated English team. But, if they're rested and ready to go - I'll not be surprised one bit if they take down the French. Croats are that good.

That Croatian player who was kicked off the roster after whining about sub duty in the Nigeria game must feel like s**t right about now.

That's what DVR is for. When Barca play too early for me I just record it and watch it later. I am able to stay spoiler free though... got a good system.

During the NFL season, I record the Barca game when they play the same day as the Niners. Then, I watch the Barca game while the Niners game is recording. When I finish the Barca game (which is a bit over 1.5 hours) I start watching the Niners game and can fast forward through commercials and all the crap they air... finally catching up to the live broadcast sometime around half way through the 4th qtr. Then I watch live from then on.

To me, it's like watching both games live almost without commercials.

Yeah with streaming now I don't have a problem with watching Bayern. Fox Soccer Match Pass allows you to watch whenever you want, so if I can't see the game live I just come home and watch it later. Very few people I know are Bayern fans, so it isn't hard to remain spoiler free if you stay off twitter and sports sites until you watch it.

I do the same thing with all the Barca and Bayern games.I Just record the games and watch them when I have time.
