Don't ever go to Netherlands and tell the ppl what you just said. You'll get slapped.

You've lived there and you don't know the similar time zones?

What does similar local time zone has to do with this?

With Netherlands being surrounded by leagues that are easy to watch and follow

US needs MLS to develop to build national support

Give it up. You are making no sense and have no idea what you are talking about. PSV, Ajax, Feyenoord are big teams with tremendous support from the Dutch. EPL is not local to them at all. Closeness has nothing to do with it. Actual wars have been fought over these close proximinity countries sense of national pride. The Dutch aren't going to see the EPL has their main, local league anymore than the French, German or who have you.

Just stop. You are destroying this thread with your nonsense which has nothing to do with this WC.

This whole topic started because I said US soccer sucks because it doesn't have the same fan support or importance in the US.

4ml brought up the Netherlands to counter that point
So the World Cup was one of the best I've seen if not the best

Congrats to France and Croatia

My final rankings IMO

1. France
2. Belgium
3. Brazil
4. Croatia

US soccer issues have far more to do with the developmental system we use and far less to do with fan support
The people who ran on the field are from a group called p***y Riot

Dutch dont consider EPL or other European leagues as local leagues. They are crazy about their Dutch league and teams in it. How many NFL/NBA/MLB teams "in similar time zone" is one able to follow religiously? Nothing to do with that. Dutch have a great support for their own league. In the 70s - Ajax was the best Football club in the World. But, for last few decades - they've not been able to compete with other leagues. Not because local ppl stopped supporting them or they started supporting other European leagues because they have similar time zone.

And, Plenty of top European League games are played between 9am to 12pm pst on Saturdays and Sundays here in US. So, that is not an issue.

In US - soccer is competing with 4 other major sports. In Netherlands - it's no. 1 and competes with Vollyball and speed skating. That's why MLS isn't at the EPL or La Liga or Serie A level and it will never reach that level.
