At the beginning of the year - something to this effect: "I haven't made any decisions about my future free agency and just wish to go through the year playing basketball and winning a championship with my current team."

So what is he supposed to say now that is different from the beginning of the year?

We all know what we want him to say - which is give an indication of his future plans. He already said he can't do that or hasn't come to that yet.

He hasn't pulled a Kyrie Irving (offseason - I plan on staying here. Current: I dont owe anybody s**t. Ask me again on 1 July"

Agreed he hasn't gone Kyrie yet. So to avoid going there and snapping just address it. Don't half ass address it like he has.

Say you will make your mind up at the end of the year and that is when you all will know. Something of along the lines of that. I was listening to Kobe this am and he mentioned that too. Don't give them any room to get under your skin. You need to make it clear when addressing the media. then never talk about it until the end. He has to be assertive.

Its also entirely possible that there is something else private/personal bothering him that has nothing to do with the noise of his free agency or basketball.

Sometimes we (media and fans) forget that

He's just too sensitive. He needs to realize the questions will never stop.Can't be wearing your emotions on your sleeves like that. Just looks embarrassing. For him lol He needs to find a way to deal with it. Keep balling.

You can't judge everyone the same way. Could he have handled this better? Without a doubt imo, but that is just my opinion. He seems to be more sensitive than most and has rabbit ears when it come to chatter regarding him, so he gets upset when he sees things said about him that he thinks are contrived. And in this click bait reporting era, does anyone doubt there is embellishment for clicks happening? He would have been better off diffusing this long ago, or just ignoring it. But we all handle things differently, and I do not think that either side of this issue is wrong. It would have been funny if this mornings headlines was that he just signed a max extension with the Dubs. Take that Ethan Strauss. One can dream lol.
